Alternator belt blew off the other night. I tried looking through the TMs for a belt diagram / part number for the 6.2L and couldn't find anything.
I have three belts on mine. Are they all they same size and type of belt? Or are there three seperate belt sizes for the separate belt paths? I...
85 M1009. Master brake cylinder is rusted and leaking everywhere. The manufacturer in the TM for the master brake cylinder is no longer in business. Can I buy just any old cylinder from advanced auto parts or are there any particular brands you guys have had success with / are clones of the OEM?
Yup! It has a fully functioning heat and AC system installed by the previous owner. Also has all working dashboard speakers and two 6 1/2s in the walls infront of the rear seats
Hey. Sorry to reply to a comment you made over 10 years ago
The female 1/4 insulated wire terminals.... can you post me a link to what they look like / where I can buy them? I know absoutely nothing about wiring and don't want to just type that into Google and buy the first thing I see...
Ahahahaha yea.....one of them is for the headlights, two of them are for led lights on the grille and one is just to cut power on and off to those led lights. Yellow button is the glow plug heater
So the M1009 I bought was converted from a 24v system to a 12v system. It has a yellow push button for the glow plugs and 4 metal switches next to it for lights. So does that mean I should opt for the 60s?
Hello all.
Need to change the glow plugs on my M1009. I saw a post from 2019 where someone mentioned AC delco 13G and 60G plugs. I don't know anything about them, what is the difference between 13G and 60G plugs, which should I use?
Can you attach a link to the glow plugs you recommend...
Hello,
I've consulted the TM for a new glow plug solenoid and it says that they were manufactured by a company called CAMTEC. It appears they do not make the part anymore and I cannot buy a CAMTEC solenoid directly. What are acceptable aftermarket brands that I can use / have been used by...
Thab
Thank you for the reply. I misspoke when I said ignition solenoid, I guess it's the glow plug relay. I was told to replace it as it might have been a cause of the issues I was having. I posted a picutre attached to this reply.
I've been told it's could be a wiring problem or a fuel...
Hello all,
Drove a M1009 from Alabama to Massachusetts without any issues. Two days after getting home began to experience starting issues. Started with turning the key and having no cranking what so ever, just a single "clunk" noise of the starter clicking on and an audible click noise...
When I get my hands on the truck I'll definitely send some, but here's some from the seller.
It's got 64,000 miles on it now. Paying $7000 cash and putting $5000 of work into the interior
Needs nothing mechanically. All new fluid and seals and such
My plan is to remove the smoke stack exhaust...
So it doesn't matter then? I was confused between these two products. The one with the empty void space is just a cover, and the one with the AC vents is a full dash both from LMC. I tried looking for a full dash in the same style as the picture of the cover pad but couldn't find one, and wasn't...
Hello everyone.
I will be acquiring an 85 M1008 in the next week or so. Truck is pretty rock solid just needs a few things here and there. My main priority once I get it, barring any mechanical issues I discover will be an interior restoration. I have a ton of questions so please bear...
