    Power Steering Possibility?

Does anybody here have first hand experience driving a deuce with the torque generator option? Curious how much assistance it provides. Palm steering without truck in motion..? I'm running stock tires and don't plan on increasing tire size.

    doghead starter relay modifcation

I'll be performing this mod this weekend, as my existing relay has gone bad. One question,, which looks to have already been addressed,, but i'd like to be absolutely sure i understand correctly----- is the diode just spliced inline into the existing ground wire...?

    new deisel feul

Regarding sulfur content, and it's affect on lubricity-- the element of sulfur does not increase/decrease lubricity by itself... From my experience with machining oils for cutting/grinding/honing of stainless steels (with high nickel content) or nickel based alloys, I've learned that oils with...

CUCV question for ATF/veg oil/motor oil

Sounds like the flex ring inside your injector pump has deteriorated and is clogging your return-line-check-valve, thus starving your engine of fuel. To fix the root cause, you'll need to rebuild the pump. I ended up doing mine myself with a 30$ rebuilt kit from stanadyne. As a interim...

Lose brake lights when headlights are turned on

Any particular ground point in mind that would create my described scenario,,, or shall i just get to checking them all,, and run continuity tests starting at the lights moving toward the switches/power source...?

Lose brake lights when headlights are turned on

Alright,,,, so all of my service lights operate normally until i turn my headlights on. Once i turn the headlights on,,, i lose my left turn signal (front and rear) and my brake lights (except the right brake light just stays on,, unaffected by pedal depressing...).. I replaced the headlight...

    Leaking Injector Pump

I was lucky and only needed to replace the seals in mine (flex ring had broken up, and was clogging the check/pressure-regulator-valve on the return line).. Did it myself for $40... A bit tedious, but turned out really well, runs great now.

    Gauges

Does the TH400 pan already have a boss to screw a trans temp sender into....? Or will it require welding a boss in...? If drilling/welding required,,,, where is the ideal location for the boss...?

    Return line check valve

My temporay resolution until i can replace the seals & flex ring (the flex ring is what is most likely what is deteriorating and plugging your check valve) was the following--- 1) bought another check valve (~15 dollars at a stanadyne shop) 2) knocked the glass ball out of the old check valve...

    M1009 VA Tow Bar Recovery

Good work! I like the tow bar set-up,, could you please provide all the specs/details on that...? (what was off the shelf, what you fabricated,,, etc).. I'd like to keep a to bar set-up in my M1009 just in case i ever need it. Plus,, would certainly be nice for future recoveries. Another...

    Leaking Injector Pump

Does anyone here have personal experience with either of the above mentioned suppliers...? If so,, were they happy with the rebuilt pump..? Calibration accuracy,, seals holding up, leaks, etc....? Any feedback would be appreciated. I just don't want to replace my worn pump with another crap...

    M1009 Recovery Trip

Where is the weep hole on the IP located? If i delay the IP rebuild,,, will it damage itself...? Or will it just run worse and worse,,, and finally not run at all...? If there is a potential for the pump to tear itself up (ie- metal on metal wear) once the seals go out,,, then i will rebuild it...

    M1009 Recovery Trip

Well,,, I finally got mine home today!! Lavarok advised me to remove/clean/re-install the check-valve (where the return line enters the IP),, and it proved to be the solution!! Back on the road in minutes,, and cruised on home with no problems! Runs great now! :-D

    M1009 Recovery Trip

I like the new M1009,, looks like you are bit luckier than I,,, so far------ I just picked one up this week from GL... Drove off the lot, and made it about 5 blocks before i lost power and stalled out... Started back up, limped into a gas station, and died again.... Checked fuel shut-off...

    M1009 wheel question

I'm in the same boat--- it's time for new tires on my M1009, and it just so happens I have a set of 285/75R16 all terrains with low mileage that would look/fit/function great on this vehicle; however, I have no 16" wheels... Any ideas for cheap 16" wheels that will fit correctly...? I could...

    New guy...should I buy a m1009/8?

AJMBLAZER, What kind of mpgs are you experiencing with your blazer...? I know that 6.2 is certainly not the most powerful diesel around,, but i've heard it puts up some pretty respectable mpgs.... If a guy wasn't goin to pull with it,, and just needed a tuff no-frills 4wd daily driver,,, it...
