Looking forward to next time guys. I think M813A1 has plans to put 51" tires on (ha ha). Thanks StreetBike for the hospitality......very cool shop indeed!
The oil could be an indication of crankcase pressure......rings not sealing. Unless the rings are worn from dusting or a lot of miles they'll seat again.
I'll be there. I googled StreetBike Depot and came up with an address of 203 W. Main, is that right?
My EUC hasn't cleared yet and my rig is patiently waiting at Fort Sill. Hope they don't try moving it with the forklift.
I'm coming ready to work. Any tools needed? Got a carbide blade...
I've seen a few keyways that weren't inserted completely. They usually last for a while before finally shearing. I think these engines are around 21:1 compression ratio......at TDC there's not much room for an open valve to hide if cam/crank got out of sync.
If you're lucky you just bent...
No.2Diesel, you didn't tell us how much the trailer/boat weighed and how the deuce handled the load.
If you transform her the yuppie crowd up there would think the pirates from somali ventured over. I say go for it!
If the engine was up to temp when you cranked it and there wasn't a noticeable knocking sound I doubt it spun a bearing (rod or main). Even at 250rpm cranking speed you'd hear some noise. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's an oil pump......heck maybe the oil pump pickup came loose and is...
On gas engines and common rail diesels you can do an injector kill test (electrically disable the injector) to isolate a rod bearing or wrist pin. With no combustion pressure sometimes the knock will go away. Never done it on a diesel with nozzles but you could probably just disconnect the...
I was planning on more than just 1 case of beer. One things for sure, I'll find a way to repay his kind gesture.
91W350, looks like you're the KSMoparguy. My dad grew up in Salina and still talks about the Smokey Hill bombing range and Cozy burgers.
Gimpyrobb, you posted in the thread "LDS-465-1A Powered M35A2's" that you have a Deuce with the LDS. Someone else posted it was done by National Guard units though.
Thanks M813A1, I'll pm you when the EUC clears and we can figure out a day that works for you. I really wanted to just drive it home but realistically no one knows the running condition of these trucks. With all the quirks of learning a new rig and no suitable tow vehicle at my disposal the...
Now add to that cold weather, someone who doesn't keep the tank over half full in winter or drain their water seperator frequently and lets the engine come up to temp at base idle.
Hey DeuceNewbie, looks like you bought 7210? I think you, Jayhawk and myself all bought some nice looking rigs. Hopefully we're all blessed with trucks that run as good as they look. I don't know about you guys but if she's a no-go than my wife will have me sleeping in it......naa, maybe not...
I just hope my EUC clears in time for the Chow Run. Currently my EUC status says "Submission of EUC Pending" even though it was submitted on Monday via email with the requested cover sheet and scanned license and EUC. I called GL and they assured me this was normal. I hope their right because...
I'm not a multifuel expert, but on most engines when the front main fails you have to drop the oil pan to pull the front timing cover which houses the seal. Some of the other guys can confirm this.
Jayhawk, thanks for the offer on the chile's but I'm going to Farmington in a couple weeks. My physical is scheduled for 2 days after I return. If they draw queso instead of blood I'll know it was a successful trip.
On the winch, any recommendation on cable size? A friend in the crane...
I almost bid against you after I thought mine went too high.....ended up at $2600.
Do I read correctly that you're a Jayhawk in the 505? I grew up just north of Lawrence and lived in Albuquerque for 3 years......thought I was the only KU fan. I don't have too many bad things to say about...
Started talking about the idea of buying a Deuce about 1-month ago with 2 good friends. Within 30 minutes we all caught the sickness and started looking on GL to make our individual purchases. We all had a pact. Have you ever seen The Contest episode of Seinfeld? Long story short "I'm Out"...
Hey Russ, a couple of things on the Cummins.
My grandpa (retired) owned his own diesel shop and I picked up a few tidbits working summers to pay for school.
1) When you go to the dealer make sure they know it's out of an 03'.....they'll have to use the DRBIII to configure the engine/trans...
