read my quote - it says 1981 thru 1984 is the correct adapter
1981 thru 1984 have a tall adapter with 2 rubber mounts
1985 and newer have a short adapter with single rubber mount
You can find one on e bay. If from a civilian truck it would have to be from a heavy duty 3/4 ton - 8600lb gvwr. The light duty 3/4 ton models did not have a turbo 400 . 1981 thru 1984 model years
4l80e not cheap - but well worth the extra expense . Or find a donor truck . I have it in two of mine and love it. My 1991 crewcab came with it oem and i put one in my 1986. Both have a np 205 behind them :d

You donot need to lower your transfercase with a 3.5 lift kit. I put a steering block on mine when i lifted it - goes on the top of driverside steering knuckle under the steering arm. Installed new studs with this to.
This is a class 3 hitch - 2 inch receiver. There are no part numbers on it . I am waiting for the paper work / receipts for these trucks so i can find out where the hitches were bought and maybe a part number. I have 2 m1028 trucks - they both have this exact hitch on them . Bolts up...
