Been fully restoring an MEP802A generator... got a few parts I need
Air Filter Lid/clamp
Alternator and bracket
Frequency guage
LMK what you have or if this is posted in the wrong spot!
I bought a generator that had a discharged ABC monoammonium phosphate extinguisher that had sat in it. It corroded the fuel lines, governor cable, paint on gnerator case and some bolts. The fuel lines, governor cable and bolts aren't a big issue. I'm largely through cleaning it up, I...
I got it started! What a pain to get that lined up and in. I had to take both injector pumps out and align them and readjust and drop them in. Gauge says alternator isn't charging... that's for another day.
I found that one of the injection pumps was completely seized. I took it out and rebuilt it freed it up. I have two generators (neither run) so I have spare parts.
I replaced it after rebuilding it and the governor is seized up after replacing the first cylinder pump. I tried two injectors...
Got the one generator completely apart, have a list of parts, just waiting on checking the power generation unit to ensure it's good due to severe corrision from the ABC Extinguisher. On another note... electronics may be shot due to what appears to be a negative terminal hooked up backwards...
I am missing the back lid of the air cleaner as well. I got it to crank over but it won't fire.... fuel pump is working so. Will be digging into it more. Just trying to get it all the parts together as I go through it.
I'm missing alternator and alternator bracket. I'm going to redo the fuel lines in an (or attempt to) I assume they are JIC 37* flare fittings. What's everyone doing for the feed line with the banjo bolt to the injectors? Making their own AN lines?
I don't have an alternator. The power draw of the unit is next to nothing. The alternator appears to be 63amp. I can easily build a buck boost/transformer circuit for a step up to run the rest of the system at 24V. I'd be surprised if the 24v starter is unable to start the system at 15ish volt.
Hey All,
I have a generator that had a fire and am looking to convert it to a 12v system. What all is needed? PN's and who has done it?
I'm missing alternator (some wiring's burned up), batteries, and alternator bracket. I can make the bracket no big deal
