Forgot to mention 40 psi on the oil pressure gauge. Here’s some pics of the machine, if it only has 13 hours it’s been some rough travels. 😁
Louvers opened up some today while it was running.
Generator is roaring as I post.
61.4 on the kill a watt meter
125v to the receptacle
Voltage gauge on panel is 3 lines above 220
Battery voltage is 26.4
Hour meter reads 13 but it could have been changed out.
I think I’ve got a generator!
I’ll see about getting the pressure switch coming my way. Does anyone have information about operating the generator without any load? I think the person I purchased it from said it could cause damage. Wanted your input before I kept testing without a load.
I disconnected the jumper and connected both wires going to the oil pressure switch together. Generator fired up quickly. Thanks all for getting me this far along. Will any oil pressure switch work or should I use a specific one. Green Mountain shows one for $77.00 but I thought that was a...
I’ve taken some pictures of my setup and maybe I’ll figure out how to post them lol.
first I have several settling tanks and barrels. When I get ready to start processing the oil I’ll transfer it from one of them to my heated barrels. The heaters consist of a large and small burner from an...
Won’t always be able to get the information this quick.
S1-14 25v (new batteries)
K5 no voltage with S1 in run position. I couldn’t test it but after a long crank engine started but died when releasing S1 to run position.
Jumpered TB5 8&9 and after kind of long crank engine started and kept...
Fuel shutoff solenoid wasn’t on the running generator. Removed one from the parts machine and installed it. Solenoid doesn’t energize when the switch is turned to the prime run position. Is the solenoid 24vdc? Is one of the wires on the switch specifically for the solenoid? I have the...
I’m thinking to keep threads on the topic of the category I should start one in the alternative fuel category. I’d be happy to share what I’m doing and get advice from others because I haven’t burned any yet. I’ll see if I can get one going before too long. Thanks for the interest. We’ll see if...
rickf, didn’t mean for my comments to sound like I hadn’t read your post, sorry. Since you explained how guides wouldn’t allow enough oil into chambers, I just let the suggestion be ruled out. My follow up post should have reflected that better. My post also meant to say “I’ll be checking in on...
I’m west of Enid a ways. Born and bred Okie. Not a farmer, but there are plenty around. Oilfield occupation, I have access to a lot of wmo and have started the process of cleaning it. The generator is intended for powering that process and I am hoping to be able to run it on the wmo. Not at that...
Thanks to all, it takes me a while to read through all the posts and information so don’t think I’m ignoring it. The generator isn’t a big priority at the moment so responding back might get sporadic. I do appreciate your involvement in my project.
Yes to those suggestions. Definitely a great site to learn from and be a part of. Started my own thread for the generator I’m working on. Always better to let folks to help the original poster and start another thread with its specific situations. Since nobody suggested valve guides I thought...
I’ve been reading posts and getting familiar with the mep 003a. Purchased 2 about a year ago. One would run for about a minute before black smoke started rolling out of the 1 and 2 cylinder exhaust. Seller thought it could be repaired and the second one sold or ke for parts. Tore down running...
New here and new to mep003s. I just finished putting a piston in mine. Would there be a chance the oil could be getting past the valve stem? Intake valve stem seal leaking? I’m not a mechanic so this is more of a question of it being a possibility?
