Many thanks to ranchhopper! I ran a hot wire to the small terminal on the GP solenoid that has the pink/black wire. This was the fix that I needed. I did keep the ground coming off the blue wire underneath my dash to my push button. Later, I do plan on running a ground wire from the blue...
So for example, from the small terminals on the solenoid, I run a wire from the positive of the battery to terminal on the solenoid that has the pink/black wire. On the second terminal of the solenoid that has the blue wire, I can hook up a wire going from the terminal, to the push button to...
I have installed manual glow plugs on my 84 m1009. I had a push button set up runnin off the blue wire that goes into the gp card to ground. Now I don't hear the solenoid clicking when I push the button. I replaced the solenoid with a st-85 and the gp's are the self limiting glow plugs...
Well, I had purchased the alternator at oreily's so they're going to replace it for free. Its wierd that I have to rev the engine just once when i start the truck in order to get the alternator to start putting out 12.1V...
Thanks for your help guys. I'll update as soon as I install the new...
Hey guys, I'm just wondering if anyone has come across this. I converted my truck to 12 volt, and its been running fine for some while now. Well, today I was having trouble with the battery starting my truck and the battery is 2 months old. I took it Advanced Auto Parts to get tested and it...
I want to say thanks to all you guys, you guys helped me out through this issue. I dropped the transfer case using the spacers and that solved my problems. No more vibrations or noises. I want to thank Shop Rat for the quick replies and helping troubleshoot the problem!
Now I just have to...
Its definitely the double carden joint. I can see the wear marks. I just don't know where to go from here. Is there something somewhere that I can buy to fix this?
Well I guess that's another problem. My front drive shaft spins when I'm driving and my hubs are off. I guess the front is still engaged...sigh...
The lift was leaf springs all the way around. I'm going to drive right now and film it.
If I let go of the brake and let it move on its own, it makes no noise. When I step on the gas to accelerate from a stand still, then it makes quite a bit of noise up until I reach 20 mph and I'm not pushing hard on the engine. I haven't put it in 4wd yet. I did put it up on the lift and...
Hey all, I decided to lift my truck 4 inches and add some 35 inch tires since I read you didn't have to modify anything else except changing the steering arm. Well, I finished all up and now when I accelerate from a dead stop, I hear all sorts of clanking and popping coming from my transmission...
Once again guys thanks for the help.
The sales rep was offering me the steering arm for $68 and the kit with shocks for $511. Its not a tuff country, so I imagine its gonna be a rough ride until it settles out.
Its the genuine lift from 4wheel parts. I'm not sure if you guys have ever dealt...
I'm looking online to buy a 4 inch lift kit, and I found a good deal on one. When I called the store, the sales rep said I needed to buy a new steering arm since its more than a 2 inch lift. Is this true or is he blowing smoke? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that I could just bolt on a 4 inch...
Sorry I can't post up pics of the truck's A/C. I'm out in the middle of the Gulf on an Oil Rig and I didn't bring any pics of my truck on my laptop. I'll be back on land in two weeks.
Believe it or not, the guy I bought if from had already put it on. He said his buddy owed him some cash, so since he worked at a shop he sprayed it to cover his debt. From what I've read, its around the 1000 dollar mark, give or take a couple hundred bucks.
I bought the setup off of crutchfield. Sony has the marine radio and speakers for 179. I also put marine alpines in the back. But if you want to put the speakers on the door panels like I did, you're going to have to cut the actual door and door panel to get the magnet to fit.
