Talking with GeneralDisorder, a better option would be to make it out of an impact socket to make filing and softening up the edges easier. I was able to file down the edges on mine but it took quite a bit of filing because that socket steeel is so hard. And according to GD you don’t want sharp...
I’m rebuilding my compressor head and there is a special tool needed to remove and replace the Inlet Valve Cages. Others have figured out other solution for this tool, but I thought I would share mine. It’s $390 for the OEM tool, mine was almost free.
Any updates to these automatic window systems? I bought a truck with them already installed and the driver side doesn’t work? Wondering if there is a more robust unit available yet, or if anyone know how I might fix the one I have?
Oh boy… Every seal in the CAT engine??? The last little bit of driving I did today the truck felt sluggish? Do you think I’ve already blown all the seals? Thanks so much!! If my luck so far is any indication of how my luck is going to go with this truck I’m in trouble.
I posted this picture on another related thread where a guy found a similar piece in his air dryer.
I made it to Tulsa Ok today and started loosing air. I pulled over and noticed the new air dryer I just replaced in Johnson City TN was consistently purging air. I barely made it back to Tulsa...
Hahaha, just my luck, I probably have a defective stem.
Well, my tires were holding air when I got up this morning so i got in the truck to make my way home. At first the light on the controller would go solid for a minute or two then it would flash for a minute or so and go solid again. It did...
I wanted to post this picture here to see if anyone knows where these pieces of spring are coming from. I’ve been have trouble getting my new purchased M1088 home to Utah from North Carolina. I made it to Tulsa Ok today and started loosing air. I pulled over and noticed the new air dryer I just...
I tried removing the wheel valves today and putting a valve core in the shrader valve so I could air it up but the valve core wouldn’t seat deep enough. The nipple stuck probably 1/8” out of the stem. I event took the core out of the stem on the wheel valves itself and tried using it but same...
As far as what’s keeping me from driving, there’s this issue with the CTIS and now I have a Air dryer with the heater unplugged because the mechanic put a air dyer with a 12V heater on it. DOT inspectors don’t like to see things unplugged. I have the same concern with disconnecting the CTIS. I...
Thanks everyone, for your input! Well I got in the truck and drove it to the parts store to get some penetrating oil to start the process of loosening up the screws so they don’t break off when I go to replace the diaphragm in the wheel valves. Miraculously the CTIS aired up the front tires and...
Thanks GeneralDisorder! Is the shrader valve at the fill point on the wheel (not the one on the wheel valve itself) a standard shrader valve? Does it have a valve core in it? I thought about doing as you suggest but I thought I read somewhere that there is no core in it and that it an odd size...
Yeah I think once I get it home I will replace it with the Haldex DA34100 PURest, but it’s a 12 volt heater also. How do I over come this? The first post in this thread Suprman suggests (if I’m understanding him correctly) that I can pull the 24v heater off the old dryer and swap it onto the new...
