Old thread I know, but I'm pretty sure that penisular diesel told me that they have an oil pan that will fit the p400 and fit GM trucks...I think he told me on the phone that they have a jig they use to make it right. I wasn't sure if they would sell me just the oil pan though...I'm sure they...
It has been awhile since we were able to host a show (due to me getting cancer); but I've had several people ask me about it this year. I think we can do it.
The church will host a military vehicle show Saturday October 19 from 11AM-1PM. We will have hotdogs and snacks available for all...
I've listed this information before, those are the 2 filters I'm using on mine. I got mine from fleetfilter.com, they seem to offer the best prices. I order several to save on shipping.
There is also an oil filter mod, you use a spin on adapter base from an old Ford engine! Don't remember...
I haven't heard, have you made it back yet?
It was a cool site seeing them leave out of here Saturday evening with everything hooked up and loaded up...wife took a couple of pictures, maybe I can get them posted eventually.
Switching the primary to a spin on is rather simple.
Wix fuel filter base 24770, remove out filter canister, drill 3 holes in existing bracket, bolt wix base on, tape up fittings and screw fuel lines into new filter base.
There are a number of different fuel filter/water separator spin...
Thanks vet! I wasn't questioning you or anything, maybe the seller I was.
I've never heard of this "s-82" bell housing...maybe someone else will chime in. I also could hardly believe Napa has this on the shelf...maybe all the guys doing Cummins swaps have totally missed something!
Maybe vet89 has an answer for this question...maybe there is some super secret Napa in Iowa that has a magical part that we don't know about...chances are, the Napa salesman with the "excellent Cummins for a $1,000" and the "off-the-shelf adapter plate" was blowing smoke up vet's backside...
I would like to know a little bit more of the "in stock" adapter plate to match a GM transmission to a 6bt Cummins engine...
Please, please tell me more about this!
There are only 2 adapter plates that I know about, from destroked, about $1000 and from an old panel van (then the engine has a...
Tell him there are guys who pay over $250 for a brush guard and more for the tow points and shackles!
Other people that don't have CUCV's want these brush guards for their trucks...too bad it was scrapped.
Yes, it is the guy from post #16.
He PM'd me, I think if you contact him through SS you get free shipping, but off ebay there would be a charge.
I am thinking if I go to a spin on filter and water separator which will be 6 micron and 2 micron that will probably be substantially better...
I just got the k-85 kit (Fram's part number) from the cheapest guy off ebay.
I looks just like what the guy had in the picture on this other forum (where I got the idea from). Although after I grind the edge off of it and check it for fitment I will probably sandblast the part and paint...
I just have to ask, the 3 fuel filters in a row on the MEP which one is the fuel strainer? I am considering purchasing one from you, but if I go to 2 modern spin on filters would I still need the fuel strainer?
No one has really confirmed what the fuel strainer actually does...
Also, I didn't put the picture of my trailer hitch in this thread to be bashed or laughed at...the question was asked and I answered, acknowledging that mine was not the best, nor the worst.
Just sharing my experience.
What? First, I never said my hitch was a "poor design". Second, the amount of flex is nearly inperceptable...if it looked dangerous 13 mike wouldn't have let me leave the GL lot. And to repeat myself I'm done using it, so you can calm down. I believe it has fulfilled its function and lived its...
These trailers do not have jacks on them and the tongues are very heavy, it is much easier to have a hitch that is at the correct height. Also, it would seem to me that a trailer sitting level would be safer and pull better than a trailer that isn't...I don't know, maybe I'm nuts. I just...
If I planned on using this hitch for anything other than recoveries or permanently I would do some extensive mods to strengthen it. However, I would rather have it be smaller to haul m101's around...so it will come apart soon and this way it comes apart easier.
