Will be curious to see your photos. Mine has since been moved on to another owner. Was in such a sad state I didn't have the time/resources necessary to repair same.
MEP 003 & 002 pans are aluminum so you can not use a magnetic type block heater. There have been some discussions on here about using the dip stick variety in them instead.
I noticed those as well. I came to the conclusion they were inline quick disconnects for an external battery charger. I will be curious to know if I was correct or not.
That was what I said. Just trying to figure out what output voltage/frequency they have and if applicable a NSN etc. That way we can try to figure out weight if they are duds.
Can anyone ID these turbine powered generator sets? I have tried for a few hours without any luck. I can't get any model # information at all on these. What are they truthfully worth assuming they are not working?
I am contemplating buying a 20 x 30 military maintenance tent for a semi-permanent storage barn for one of my cars and my tractor/attachments. The idea of a tarp/billboard over the fabric is an idea that I think would make the original fabric last a long time. For the money v/s a metal carport...
Thanks everyone. I appreciate your help. As I type this we have about 8" of fresh heavy wet snow weighing everything down. The utility is flickering every now and then but I know I have the MEP-003A outback so life will go on as normal around here should the utility fail. I have a 300 gallon in...
I have searched the forum and can't find the answer I need. I know it was posted some time back but I can't find it on here or in the TM's. How much vertical lift in feet/inches can the auxiliary fuel pump on an MEP-003A provide? I was having a discussion and this came up but I can not find the...
Some electricians I work with here in NC who install and maintain generators have told me the NEC says a generator has to run for 15 minutes before re-transfer to utility after it has been restored. This may or may not be correct but I would suggest researching same.
The actual plug is a 60A plug that is made by Hubbell. I found mine on eBay a month or so back. I got both the plug and receptacle for under $75. The male connector, that I will install on my SO extension cable hooked to the generator, is a Hubbell 26419. The receptacle, that is in the...
While we are on the subject of the MEP-003a does anyone know of a source for a nice cover/tarp for these? I have found the usual gray tarps work fine but I would like to have something a little more rugged to put over the unit. I know this will require me to relocate my Solargizer panel but that...
Well I purchased this generator over a month back and due to bad roads I haven't been able to get it to my home. I didn't want to make the misses mad by tearing up the yard with the truck and trailer. I went ahead and did a filter/lube change on it. I haven't changed the fuel filters just yet...
I went down and picked up my MEP-003A and he has another one that he says will be ready for sale soon that just arrived yesterday. It had 800 and some odd hours on the clock so I am not sure what the price will be. If you are in the market for one this one looks very nice. I didn't take my...
