Does tilting the cab require disconnecting the throttle linkage ?
Unless I'm just missing it, the throttle linkage is not addressed in either the equipment conditions or steps found in the TM.
I guess it's now my turn to tackle FLU419 electrical issues.
The following have all quit working.
-Low air warning light
-Oil Pressure gauge
-Water Temp gauge
-Tachometer
Is there a common ground for the instruments? I have pulled the air intake tubing and pulled the fuse panels forward and...
It turns out that all 4 of my door hinge pins were broken. The pins were seized in both the upper (door side) and lower (cab side). With the hinges clean/ well lubricated the doors can be removed leaving the hinge pins in the cab side of the hinge.
I need to replace my broken door hinge pins and need to know the correct orientation for the replacements.
When the door is removed, does the pin stay with the door, or the body side of the hinge?
I have now ordered some tires. Does anyone have a lead/ recommendation for the valve stems? I have get the distinct impression that the ones installed now are original. When I search for the part number for the valve stems (MS51368-7 from the parts manual ) Al I get is the never ending...
My truck was missing the front loader remote switch when I got it. I found one on eBay that matches the nsn but is black instead of white. I installed it & now I can raise/lower the front end loader from the backhoe operator’s position as intended.
I haven’t made as much progress with the truck as I would like but I did find a m796 bolster trailer at a price I couldn’t pass up. I have a lot of work left to do before I feel comfortable towing with the floozy on the street. Fortunately for me steelsoldiers member glcaines snagged it for me...
Time for some updates...
After an extended stay at the hydraulic shop, all of the backhoe cylinders have been rebuilt and hoses have been replaced. Because they are more accessible, I decided to work through the front loader hydraulics as issues arise. In the first 10 minutes of use, the front...
Which groove on the crank pulley should be empty ?
I had a belt fail today and I am replacing all three.
It looks like it should be (from closest to the block moving towards the radiator)...
1. Water Pump/ Alternator
2. Empty
3. Hydraulic pump
4. Power Steering
Is this correct?
Thank you,
That student handout looks great. I would absolutely appreciate help w/ trouble shooting. It seems there are several steps that require action inside and outside the cab at the same side.
So far I have only been able to start the truck by shorting the starter solenoid. With the master power on & the key set to on, nothing happens when I push the start button.
I am running into a dead end trying to follow the troubleshooting procedure in the TM as I do not have access to the...
Thanks Gimpy
Today was clean up day,
Can you tell which side I started on?
Interior cleaned out
Exterior pressure washed more or less clean
White paint would not be my first choice, but it does open up some opportunities for fun with stickers...
Thanks Kenny. I just realized it says GA Mountains under your username. I think I saw you driving north on US129 north of Cleveland a month or two back.
I charged the batteries over night and reinstalled them. I owned a deuce for years , but these are my first 6TLs. According to the stickers they were new in January of 2018.
Right now the start button in inoperable,. After reading through some of the troubleshooting steps in the tm and...
