    can't post to classifieds

Hey Guys, no judgement on my part! This was a great resource to me when I had a cucv, and if I still had it and was trying to sell something I might consider the upgraded membership, but at this point it would simply be a fee to post an ad for something that I think the community would be...

    can't post to classifieds

oh, I see, well I sold my CUCV a while ago, so premium membership isn't really worth it to me. :( Thanks for the help anyway!

    can't post to classifieds

Does anyone know why I can't post to classifieds? It says I don't have permission. I have a cucv gas cap and an original antenna whip and base to sell. I've been a member for a long time, so I'm don't understand it. thanks jason

    Tach for CUCV

I think it worked really well. I painted over the numbers with flat black, and then went to a hobby store to get white rub on numbers. I relabled it for 4k. After that I reassembled the glass and bezel. Just a note about calibration. I never did get an optical tach, but the method I used...

    CUCV Tachometer

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/28797-tach-cucv.html If you're the handy type you can take a look at this thread. I repurposed an 8k gas engine tach, It worked pretty good, and only cost me a few dollars as I had the tach already.

    fast idle temp switch

.4 seems very low, make sure your have a good ground on your black lead to your meter. If you are still getting .4v you can check your solenoid independently in two steps First get someone to hold the throttle down, or jam something on the pedal. Second apply 12 v to the solenoid. It should...

    The Weldernator, My latest Project

I guess I never thought about it, but if you were welding in a mudhole it might be a good idea. :) I didn't have any trouble getting zapped while welding on asphalt. That is a nice throttle cable, and $15 isn't bad, Thanks!

    Glow plug relay question

Power not being applied to the glowplugs. You really need to put a meter on the output large lug on the relay and watch the voltage while turning the key on in the morning. It your controller card is working properly you'll immediately have ~12-14v there until the wait light goes out and it will...

    The Weldernator, My latest Project

I don't know, but I figured a portable welder might come in handy some day. ;)

I Finally Got My M1009 Today!

How did your GPS compare to your speedo? My Speedo is 5mph fast.

    The Weldernator, My latest Project

Well scratch all that about it not working. I guess I didn't have a good connection or something. I reconnected the Ground from the slave jack to the ground post on the alternator. I set my throttle about about 1900 rpm, and it struck a beautiful arc. It works great. Now to get my...

    The Weldernator, My latest Project

That is pretty slick, and it probably does a better job, but mine cost less than $25 :P

    The Weldernator, My latest Project

Big Red, The regulator is completely isolated. Basically you feed the field 13vdc, for maximum voltage output, rather than letting the regulator control the field voltage for a 14 volt output. The more I think about it the more I think that the ground shouldn't matter. I may have to try it...

    The Weldernator, My latest Project

You're right that's perfect, wonder where I can get a hold of an M35 hand throttle?

    CUCV Hand Throttle

Barrman that throttle is perfect, where can I get a hold of an M35 hand throttle?

    The Weldernator, My latest Project

I figured I'd share my latest project with you all. I decided to repurpose the driverside alternator since my cucv has been converted to 12v anyway it no longer served any purpose. I've been reading about converting an alternator to a welder at the following site. On-Board Welder So...

    GP controller card question

Warthog, That is a good point, and that is what I did, In the end it still led me to the Card. I believe it was the final transistor, but I replaced both that and the IC. When I went to buy an LM339 (IC), and 2n6388(Transistor) they gave me an NTE263 (transistor) and an NTE834 (IC, quad...

    GP controller card question

I really thought I had seen it on here before, but maybe not, I haven't needed it until now. I've found the IC number and the transistor number. LM339, and 2n6388 respectively. I'm actually pretty good with a soldering iron, so I guess I'll try swapping them out. I did see the thread that...

    GP controller card question

Hi all, I've been searching for two days now and I still can't find a schematic for the GP controller Card. I found the wiring diagram for the system, but not for the card itself. Does any one have a copy? I'm pretty sure I've seen it before. My GP controller card quit working. The wait...

    autolite glow plugs

Shouldn't be the wts light goes out or is supposed to when the gp controller card is satisfied that the engine should start given the conditions, I wired up the light because I suspected that my relay was sticking, but that turned out not to be the case. thanks for the pics, I just wanted to...
