The world of the 939 series of trucks is is a pretty rewarding one and they are very good reliable trucks having owned on for the last 9 years. First off your NOT going to like this but you want the truth good and bad. Many people will disagree with me on this but I would stay completely away...
If your tire is still good and you will want to make sure of this, the balance beads have worked extremely well for me in balancing out HEMTT rims with 1600s on them. My 920 went from 25 mph top because it was shaking so badly you just couldnt go any faster. I put 40 oz of balance beads in...
I had an M920 and put HEMTT rims and 1600s on those rims heavy work but did 9 of them , it took some time but was a very complete success then for balancing I put 40 oz of I believe it was called equal into each tire put it in through the valve stem with the shrader valve removed filled them up...
Thats got to be the nicest looking 66 I have ever seen! I am thinking the new engine should be just about perfect for this truck. Congrats on the purchase i sure dont think there are to many in the US!
The first thing I would do is go over all the seams with a good RV type sealant, everything on the roof sides and front of the unit then see what you have. These type of leaks can be difficult to pin point because the water gets in and then can very possible flow to somewhere else. I had a...
I dont mean to seem pessimistic about this but I sure hope they added some additional power somewhere in this vehicle, the last thing a 404 needs is more weight to move around!
We use fans like this mounted directly to the radiator for cooling high performance engines where we dont want a pully for the fan and then of course we are using electric water pumps also. YES you can move a heck of a lot of air no matter what the engine speed is and you can run both the pump...
I am not sure if your asking for a schematic type thing that diagrams out each piece of rubber cord, but if you are I dont have that. How I work what your asking for is I thread the rubber cord through the sides and front of the cargo cover and the bed has hooks every couple feet or so, leave...
Thanks much for the information guys, I load tested the batteries a year ago but will do that before I go any further. Thanks again for the assist in this adventure!
Hello folks I find myself in need of some thoughts please. I have a 1985 M925A1 and the truck has been 100 % problem free for years or until this week. I parked the truck in my warehouse last Nov. and went to fire it up this week, the batteries had been on a maintainer the entire time and they...
I just wanted to thank the folks that contributed very good information to remind me of things that I have forgotten concerning the after long hibernation of my Deuce and its first start after 8 years. thanks for your assistance the start went off without a hitch and it will be driven to its ne...
Hello folks I have a 71 Deuce thats been sitting in my warehouse for 7 years and has not been started during this time, the truck was always a great runner and started instantly no matter what. My questions is what prep would you recommend before I go to start it tomorrow? Should I bleed the...
Like Cattlerepairman said its way better to mount the entire heater assembly inside the cab and it fits very nicely on the passenger side under the glove box! I looks so much better and its not in the way of any work you doing under the hood!
Hey guys did I ask this question incorrectly, was it not understood what I am looking for? just trying to get rid of the Dex in my M977 transmission, thats all? Thoughts or procedures?
Hello Folks I have a 1985 M977 HEMTT and and it was shifting differently than normal this spring and yesterday I drained the oil in the transmission and changed the filter. Upon draining what came out was Dex, I dont know what type of Dex but it was red. Well I drained 8 gallons out of the...
The Deuces from what i have seen of late are going in the 5 to 10K range for average ones, maybe run ok but need new soft top and some glass and a bit of maintenance. I saw one on FB yesterday the guy was asking 59K for it and when I asked why his was so special of course I got no answer...
First thing I would do is check out the thermostat and make sure its functioning correctly and opening all the way? If that checks out start looking at the cooling lines and radiator, cooling fans etc. Overheating is to my knowledge never a normal situation!
