I am putting a FLU419 cab on my 1973 Unimog 406. The FLU419 has air fittings (gladhands) on the right front which allow the brakes to operate from the towing vehicle. The gladhands connect to a Protection/Relay valve which in turn connects to a Tandem valve mounted on the air brake cylinder...
Want backhoe attachment, backhoe mount and Unimog bed/spider frame moved from Salt Lake area (Logan) to Sacramento area (Georgetown). May fit in 7'x9' space. 2+ tons est weight. Forklift at pickup location, crane at drop off location. No rush.
Thanks Cornrichard,
Yes, sorry, I failed to mention it is a sticker.
Looking for a heat gun I can maybe afford for a one time use I found this.
Heat Gun - Dual Temperature Heat Gun, 1500W
Also found this 36w hot blade remover. Anyone here tried this method?

OK, camera dead battery, walk a while in the driving rain. New batteries. More walking in the rain. Pics!
Hoping this increases value of thread enough to be recognized as worthy of response:)
Tried removing red cross with Rustoleum Aircraft Remover which worked very well.
But the white background is real stubborn! Used a Harbor Freight plastic wheel with embedded abrasive with success but it roughened/weakened the fiberglass which is pretty thin to start.
I plan to repaint the...
HMMH Video
Anybody have direct experience with the HMMH? Am curious about crane working on unlevel ground. Can you lift rear wheels off the ground with stabilizers?
Just won some SEE parts at Ft. Lewis, some of which I can't use.
Am planning a trip from Georgetown (near Sacramento) before September to pick up cab and a box containing fenders, axle, hood, etc with my little Toyota pickup. My weight limit is 1750 lbs so I can't take everything in the lot...
It is not the power steering pump. It is the belt driven hydraulic pump at the bottom center of the belt driven accessories. I have been too busy with other things to break the output connection and test the pump without the relief valve. I suspect wear in the pump. The engine has about 7000...
Thanks Wolf. Unfortunately I have not been able to find information on dissassembly OR tolerances in the service manual. My internet search has not found any service information on this pump. I think I can get a used pump for about $500 where a new pump is about $2500.
Not having access to...
Has anyone adjusted pressure on the front (belt drive) hydraulic pump? I put a gauge on one of the quick connects and measured about 1900psi where it should be over 2500psi. After a couple seconds it drops to about 1000psi.
The v-belt has the right tension.
The SEE tractor has a Unimog 406...
They might have done what I saw on some Aussie sites a couple years ago. One vendor had a system to put spacers between the depressions at the bead. Then they had some links to pull the rims together at the middle.
I used that method to put a capstan on my mog rear wheel that works when I...
I wasted a 750 mile inspection trip only to get outbid. However, my bid was only about a quarter of the final bid. How does one find out what bidder numbers won or the bid history?
After a LOT of head scratching I finally removed the single line trailer brakes from the mog and replaced it with the Midland Emergency Relay Valve (MS53004-1) unit from the A/M32k 4a munitions trailer I got last year. Apparently this relay valve is used on a lot of military equipment. My M32k...
After an adventure in moving the unit about 50 miles at 30mph max to avoid snake, I gave up and put it sideways on an 8' wide trailer to move it another 100 miles. Used a couple of pallets and 2x6s to make a ramp and pulled it on with a come along. Worked OK. My conversion is still underway...
Bruce,
Here are some mount details. The first sketch shows the specifications for the lower connection between a container and the dolly. The second sketch shows the connection I built. A 3/4" bolt (not shown) at top connecting 5x5 upright to 4x4 upright on dolly. The horizontal 6x6 at the...
Still working on it. I got a M720 and welded up a frame from 6x6 tubing with some log bunks as shown in pic. Stakes not shown. Am planning on adding fenders so I can (hopefully) license it. Fenders to be cut from slightly larger and much wider truck tires.
