wheels and tires
The wheels and tires look great. You mentioned 24.5 wheels did you actually find an application that the 24.5's come off of? So they could be located in a junk yard? I still want to go as tall as I can. Hopefully on a tubless rim.
Craig
Colonel,
After rereading your post I realized that your comment about the height of the 22.5's with tires being very tall really gets at what I am looking for. I really don't care if the tires are alot wider. I just want taller. Can't wait to see the pictures.
Thanks
Craig
adapters vs new wheels
It looks like the cost of the adapters is going to be almost as much as new wheels. Are there any strength or DOT issues with adapters? On the radial tire thread there is mention of attempts to get Hayes Lemerz to sell us wheels. That seems like the best way to go if...
adapters or hubs
Would it be easier to machine new hubs for the deuce with a 10 bolt pattern or would that just create brake drum bolt pattern issues? There is a guy that makes an 8 bolt hub for deuce axles to use on rock crawlers but I think they convert to disk brakes at the same time. I...
wider one piece deuce rims
There have been several discussions about wider 6 hole 20's for the deuce. I started one myself. So far no one has come up another vehicle that uses the same bolt circle 20 or 22.5 in a rim width wider than 8 inches. I would prefer tubless one piece or bolt...
pics at hrd6x6 page
Hot Rod,
I am able to get to your home page that shows a deuce with oversized tires that look like they are on m34 or m135 rims. Is that correct? Which tires are those?
Would love to see the pics of the 1600x20s on the Deuce but cant seem to get to that page.
Did...
5 ton wheels and control arms
I would be interested in the 5 ton wheels with 6 lug centers. Steel is probably the only choice if you are using steel 5 ton rims. Bolt togethers rather than locking rings would be great but might also add to price. USa6x6, Stazworks, and Stockton all make wider...
11 inch rims
From what I have seen on 1100x20s the military ran them on stock rims with no problem. I am still looking for rims I like that are 10" or wider so I can mount 395/85r20's. I have seen 14.5r20's on what look like stock m135 wheels (different offset, same width?) and they look ok...
super single wheels
Gerhard thanks for the info about the m35a3 wheels. I was wondering wht the mt wheel was. I am probably going with 395//85r20 tires so it looks like the m35a3 wheels will not work. USA6x6 has a supply of them and makes wheels that look good but are beadlocks. The only...
m35a3 wheels
Your wheel and tire combo looks great. I am thinking about 395/85r20's on the m35a3 rims but have also heard that the bead lock rims are not dot approved. Does any one know of a 10 inch wide rim to fit the deuce that is dot approved? I plan on running it on the highway in...
m35a3 singles
Has anyone tried using m35a3 singles. If so are there any problems with them and are they available any place? If not I would like to find a DOT approved wheel The ones from usa6x6 look pretty good but don't know if they are DOT approved.
