Hmm... Well, I put in a basic Mr.Gasket 12D pump just to prime/bleed the lines, but it wasn't doing the pumping while I was driving. I was driving off the mechanical lift pump. It's the recommended NAPA one.
How/why would the advance change so suddenly after 45min of highway driving?
I'm...
(SHORT SUMMARY AT BOTTOM FOR THE ATTENTION DISABLED)
So, over the weekend, I was going to use my truck to move a couch...
It had been a little harder to start the last few times I drove it, so I figured it was a fuel-line leak letting the fuel bleed back. Because it was easier to start after...
I just cut and drilled them to mount on the inside of the topper. Just to some concealment to my tools and camping gear, and provide a 6' platform to lay on. They can also be used to divide the rear area behind the back seat from the rest.
Yeah, I've shopped the junkyards (but not since last year) and Craigslist to no avail (also to take 52" springs with it for the eventual b52 lift). If I can find one, I'll grab it. I don't really drive it hard for now, but I know the axle won't like the 37s. But hey, if I snap a shaft, then I...
Hey all. I really just wanted to pop in here because I'm excited about my latest auction win: 2 lots, for a total of 10 HMMWV tires/wheels/inserts... for a combined total of $210. For now, I will just be using the 2" thick adapters to run them on my 10-bolts. Eventually I'll do an axle swap...
I have two of these. Both have run. The injector for one needed rebuilding, so I had both serviced. The rubber and plastic on these, as one would imagine, are not in the greatest condition. I already replaced the hoses, but when re-assembling on Saturday, the T-fitting broke (on both). I did...
You mean like running a high draw accessory off the inverter while the engine is running, right?
And yes, from all the charts I had looked at, I knew 4ga would be somewhat overkill, which I prefer.
Beat me to it. You can pick up a set of adapters for <$200 bucks to put on the trailer, then you could use all the same wheels/tires (after a 4" lift to level out the trailer to the hitch) That's my plan. (until I swap to dana 60/14bolt)
From my searches before, I've found: yes... and no...
The WEIGHT, sure. The weak point is going to be the hitch. Or really, the bumper to which the hitch is affixed. :)
I have one on my m1009 right now, but my next mod is going to be super-beefy bumpers, front and rear, to include a...
Hey all. I've committed the cardinal sin... converted to 12v. AND I LOVE IT!! I did it the appropriate way with the Roscommon instructions. So, now I am getting read to re-install the driver's side alternator, and run a second battery bank (2 more optima yellow tops in parallel). I'll be running...
I can't tell you about mileage, as I haven't driven enough to really know... BUT, just wanted to give another "I run 33's with no rub" post for you. No lift. I went with the 10.50s. I've tried to get them to rub unsuccessfully (but not really offroaded). Go for it!
Inspected for any fried wiring, found none. Checked all fuses as well.
All bolts and bracket: check.
I need to ensure it is shimmed properly. I will check that.
Not inspected or rebuilt since the run-on. My question would be "how/what would be wrong with it that makes it do what it...
Ok, so a month or two ago I was starting up the 1009, and it wouldn't start. I had recently replaced the starter after running through the troubleshooting in the manual. Since that time, it had started and run just fine several times. So, I didn't have much time that day and decided I'd worry...
Excellent work. I think that all too often people get stuck in the "has to be stock parts" mentality with their vehicles. Military and otherwise. I think it says much more about a person when they can think their way to a different solution. In a SHTF situation, or any kind of emergency, you...
Yep. Here's a link to it. More geared to older diesels (like the CUCV) than the modern ones like my pumpe deusse TDI.

Anybody consider a 24v inverter and a small window unit... placed on the roof.. could probably accomplish for $500 total plus some creative work to box in the unit and waterproof everything.
You've given me hope on my first one. My other two sales are already parked in Dallas...
I'm not QUITE to the 6month mark... but within 2 weeks of it. so, maybe they'll get it soon.
And here I was thinking I had the record. oh, wait, maybe now i do...
