Not loud enough so I cut the mufflers off.
After I almost went def and decided that was not such a good idea I had a new exhaust put on. I don't think they are too loud and I owned a duramax lmm. Now those are quiet.
Thanks. I had my dad take it to a local place to fix it. The truck is about 2 hours from me and I had to go back to school. I will get to see it on Thursday before they put any parts on it.
Guys,
My M1009 is spewing fuel anytime it is running. If you are standing in front of the truck and you look at the bottom of the block (under the batteries) you can see it spitting fuel out onto the front axle. Is that the fuel pump?
Anybody got a part number?
If you wanted to build one exactly like they come from AM General I would talk to Blair Outlan at UsedH1.com he builds them from scratch for weapons testing.
Every part he gets from AM general but he has more than 100k in each build. He has a couple on his website if you wanna check them out...
Every day is a learning process with my m1009. I did a search and only found glow plug info and conversions. Sorry if this was a heavily covered question. My search was "24 v to 12v" but I was specifically looking for reductions at this particular power terminal.
Thanks again.
OK this probably is not very complicated and I am sure someone here has a quick and easy way for my idea to work. I want to use that battery terminal stuff behind the passenger seat to power some stuff. Air Compressor is mainly what I'm going after. My problem lies with it being a 24v power...
Thanks for the offer but I am only painting it to learn a little. It is just a toy for me right now so it is not really important. If I ever decide to get a real paint job I will look ya up though. A gloss O.D. green would be pretty sweet!
Hey guys,
I am here to ask some advice on painting with a rattle can. I just sanded/ primed/ sprayed my m1009 with 15 cans of spray paint (not including primer). I used the Krylon OD green (part of the krylon camo colors). I am fortunate enough to be able to use a family member's huge...
Thanks. I am concerned about my tires anyways. Their production date was april 2001 according to the code on the sidewall. I will try rotating them. Tie rods look good. My u joints are tight but I will have them checked tomorrow.
Thanks again for the help everyone.
Thanks, I will check it out. I have the 31" radials but since the alignment was off the fronts are worn on the inside and not on the outside. Could the vibration come from the uneven tires? I'm going to check the driveshaft now.
I did a quick search with no results so forgive me if this has been posted/asked before. My m1009 runs great but at 65+ mph it has a vibration. Feels like it is coming from a wheel and up through the steering causing the entire thing to rattle (even the seats). Its not real bad I just wanted to...
Here are some pictures. I have not washed it since I bought it so it is kinda dirty. I bedlined the interior and only have the door panels left to do if I can figure out how to get the window crank off. Only other thing I have done is tint the rear glass.
Dealer was asking $4,995 for blazers and $3,995 for trucks. I walked in w/ cash and they acted like they had never seen it before. I paid 3K for mine and think I could have got it for cheaper but I am ok with that. I will go take some pics right now!
This was a little car dealership that...
Hey guys,
I'm new to the M1009 and I just bought one Last Friday. Just wanted to say hello and ask a question about my rig.
First of all I drove 3 different ones at a local dealership and picked the best running one. It fires up really easily every time, all the lights work, it only has a...
