I found an custom van light and installed it in the factory position
overhead where the overhead light would normally be installed.
it has three lights the outer ones are on swivels with the center lights
up the entire cab but not as bright as the outer ones.
my mechanic ran the light wire...
I would keep the air system simply because it gives you another power source for your work/hobby.
If you no longer need the air assist for brakes remove the low air. Buzzer ame toss it in the glove box for what if. At the very least having your own compressed air system would make it easy to...
It Might be the diode trio but you'd be better rebuilding the alternator go here for decent price and info on your electrical systems.

I switched my M-1009 to AC 60g series glow plugs shortly after I bought it. Had original 13 series glow plugs and it was a bear to start in the winter with only three working. Put new 60g plugs in and added a manual push button switch to power them up. The 60G series plugs will stand a lot of...
Congrats on replacing the flywheel.....Now 6.2's will break starter bolts even when the torque strap is properly in place. The way to prevent broken bolts? Go to your local Chevy Dealer and order 6 bolts "ONLY USE FACTORY BOLTS" or so and once a year crawl under the truck (if you don't have...
On top of the IP pump there is a rubber return line attached to a brass fitting. Inside this fitting lives a minor (?) curse of the 6.2 Diesel. A GLASS ampule that when clean restricts fuel flow to avoid the Ohio river running back to the fuel tank.Remove the rubber hose and cap it so no dirt...
Go to any GM dealer. I got mine from Betley Cherolet in Derry NH when I bought my M-1009 4 years ago. Costs? $70 thereabout.....no adjusting plug? Who needs em. Third adjustment and road test was and still is the charm. Don't forget to replace the 2 inch rubber line that connects the modulator...
My ex Air Force Chevy Van 6.2 with turbo 400 was lousy on heat the first winter I drove it. It would throw heat but barely luke warm. $7.00 for a new 180 degree thermostat and it throws plenty of heat at 0 degree's out without a winter front. The old thermostat was fully open at 125 degrees we...
Mangus,
I see a hell of a lot of work finished and (I'll say it for yee) too much mumble, curse, yell, scream, rant, rave&holler!!!! Blasted work left!!
Way to go. The new site's look shows lota of blood sweat and tears (Dew of Course) and just plain looks like you were slave drivin' the 'puter...
I would if I were you wire the shelter for 110 volt AC preferably with a changeover switch from a M-109. The changeover switch changes from the truck 24 volt system to an outside power connection for commercial or generator power. The changeover switch has three positions 24 volt....all power...
So called Dieselsecret has come up before on the Greasecar website a couple of years ago. It is a fraud and doesn't work plain and simple. If you are converting WVO into BioDiesel then Dieselsecret is not the golden egg.
A friend on mine coverts his wvo to biodiesel for near $.70 a gallon...
OK Guys,
You REALLY want to clean your oil? Here is the easiest way to do it with one small addition to the engine. It will cost more than a few dinero but you will learn to love it. The road truck I drove for one full year used a factory installation Mack engines have all
been equipped with...
The truck will run even when you replace the Stanadyne 80 series fuel filter assembly with something else. I've seen CUCV's with civilian fuel filters mounted with clear plastic water bowls and drains on the bottom.
The heater is to insure fuel movement in very cold weather.
The pressure...
Parramore in Florida has NOS vacuum pumps for the CUCV. I bought two at less then 1/3 the price Chevy wanted
http://www.parramore.com/
TM 9-2320-289-20 is the manual you want to download from steelsoldiers and go to page 197 and it
shows the unit and how it mounts to the fuel injection...
The Solargizers are designed to work with almost any battery including a gell cell battery. The desuphation process converts the sulfur deposits back to a LIQUID form to bring the hydrochloric acid back to full strength which is why the battery feels stronger after a couple of weeks after...
Generally 25 amps for the generator with an external regulator and 60 amps for the standard alternator with an internal regulator.
I wouldn't go from a alternator to a generator.

The DEUCE fuel tank pickup tube is set to leave 1/4 of a tank of fuel in case it is contaminated. All deuce's are set that way from the factory per Army spec.
Drain whatever is left in the tank using the drain plug on the bottom and refill with fresh fuel after replacing the drain plug.
