I'm in the process of doing a HD d44 /14b swap in my 1009 to run my 37's. ordering the ORD shackle flip kit in a few days. Both axles are geared to 4.10.... should be pretty radical once it's all on.
If you ever need to clean the copper on the circuit board, use hot sauce, any kind works, it cleans it very well. did it last night when my fuel gauge went out.
I used Del Taco, Mild...it was only a mild clean but it got the job done. :-D
Awesome. well that's good to hear. Another thing... my CDR was sucking up alot of extra oil, like a good puddle sized amount in the tubes. Got into my intake manifold and now it smokes alot on startup / idle. I took the valve off and cleaned it out in my parts cleaner. found a piece of foil in...
Ah alright. yeah that's not good haha. Yeah I don't know if it's busted or not. but when I took it off and shook it. it rattled. I assumed it was broken.
Alright. what's the deal with the breather? I don't know much about diesels yet. I just got this one and it's my 1st. How come you can't run one without the breather?
I checked out my oil cap on my m1009. I'm not 100% sure but i think there's a valve mechanism in it and it sounds broken. so i went to kragen and picked up a new cap for it. I'll post some pics of them. I just want to know if it will work with it. I think the original cap is a breather? it...
Ok cool. I'm going to try that out myself. I've been looking around all day. I can't find anywhere that carries CDR valves. Napa told me they don't carry them... Rockauto.com has one for the (c) engine, I'm guessing I need the (j) version for a m1009. Has anyone bought a CDR valve recently...
Yeah. that's exactly what I thought. I took the CDR valve off and ran it through a parts cleaner (diesel) over night. so much junk came pouring out... I'm not sure how to tell if the diaphram is busted though. the spring inside that keeps it regulated. I'm going to check it after about a week...
Same thing is going on with my m1009, Just replaced the fuel filter with a brand new one. I took the PVC hoses off and checked inside them. there's alot of oil inside the CDR also, a pretty good amount... the truck is smoking light grey / white on start up / idle. I'm not 100% sure on this but...
