THAT IS MY FAVORITE VEHICLE IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the full wings it has [fenders] instead of the cycle wings. It must be repaired. You British dudes get all the good toys.
You have some beautiful trucks [lorries]. I like how you balanced out the air cleaner and exhaust stack on your 5ton. I did just the opposite, I removed the air cleaner and stack from the fender. The truck is a M52A2 tractor and I like the clean look with both removed.
Project Patriot was a U.S. government program that supplied military equipment to FRIENDLY governments. A gift you might say. The vehicles were rebuilt at Letterkenny Depot in PA. When completed they were shipped to sea ports and delivered. I was at Letterkenny Depot in 1987 and there were...
Mack engine ENDT-673. Series END. T for turbocharged, six cylinders at 73 cubic inches per cylinder. 205 SAE gross HP.It is a regular civilian engine that has military accessories. If you place it in your truck the biggest modification will be to remove the top of the frame channell on the...
RE: Manifold Flap Stuck- that ani
If I may make a suggestion to you. Do not mess with old head bolts as they stretch and the metal chrystalizes. Invest a few bucks in some new grade 8 bolts. The bolts used in the 230-251 family are not special and can be obtained at a good hardware supplier. I...
Hey man, said in a friendly way, the civilian version was similar but was speced out differently. It was lighter and had higher, lower numerically, gearing in the axles. Depending on how much money you have to spend you could change the axle gearing or run a larger diameter tire. Even a few...
The easy way and I feel the safest way to remove the torque rod from the housing, is to first remove the nuts, use a Porta Power with the spreader attachment also called a butterfly.Place the spreader and then pump. If the rod end is really bound then apply some heat to the mounting boss. If...
A few of the trucks I have worked on have had the nuts strip or break off were the fender bolts to the cab inside the rocker panel. My solution to this is to take a piece of quarter inch thick band iron and drill 3 holes in it to match up with the bolt holes in the cab. I then weld 3 nuts over...
Go to a heavy truck spring shop, a larger place should have all you need. Do not use take off u bolta a they are prone to failure due to the stress placed upon them. The spring shop I use bends U bolts to order, it takes them about 5 min. to do a set.
I have had radiators recored in heavy trucks before and have had good results. You have bolt on tanks, and there are some places where you can get a kit to recore your own radiator. It is not too difficult and it saves a bunch of money. The last one I did on my own was a 1440 square inch monster...
RE: Re: RE: Did a little hauling EGT Results
180 is cool for a diesel and I don't feel that 1200 on the pyro is alarming either. My new Mack Granite will get up to 1400 on a long hard pull grossed at 70k, still in the green on the pyro. If you are concerned about the temp check the coolant with...
No.2Diesel, the big problem with the LDS427 was burning holes in the pistons. My Stude was a 1963 and it had around 50k miles on it when I got rid of it. I was told by a military mechanic to not lug or over rev the engine, so I was careful to keep it within limits. I put around 25k miles on it...
