Well i finally got everything disasemmbled and cleaned up. Luckily all the internals are in great shape. I am going to have to make the braces that run across the top and back of the winch new as the ones that were on it were bent beyond recognition. Does anyone have the center to center...
Yeah im going to have to do some work on it to get it going. i was able to get 2 axles as well for free. I wasnt able to get the PTO off the truck as there were already 3 Kenworth style road tractors piled on top of the thing. I just used a torch and whacked off the frame back behind where the...
Hey guys i just picked up a free winch off of a scrapped truck at a metal junkyard. Only problem is i need the drive shaft, pto, and the control handles to get this thing hooked up now. Does anyone have these parts that they would like to part with at a reasonable price? If so send me a pm.
I bought a set of 1 piece boots from OD back in july of last year. I didnt get around to putting them on my truck until october however i noticed after driving the truck this weekend that i had grease all over the inside of the fender. Further inspection revealed that the boots are completely...
Yeah im definitely going to invest in a winterfront. As far as methanol goes it does in fact raise the octane up but you only need to add a few ounces to take care of the water..Or you could just drain your fuel filter housings and change your filters regularly and then you dont have to worry...
You dont want to add gasoliine to your tank at all. It kills your cold start ability as it dramatically lowers your cetane of your fuel and raises your octane.. Since the multifuel fires from the compression and not a spark lowering your cetane and raising octane is a bad thing in cold weather...
I started my truck yesterday morning it was -3 F. Hit the starter and it cranked over for about 3 seconds and started to fire some then died. I waited a few seconds and done this again with the same spit and sputter that lasted just a little bit longer. Done this a third and fourth time and...
Pulling the axle shaft is pretty easy.. Jack it up take the wheel off, drive flange off, wheel bearing nuts and slide brake drum and hub off. Take bolts off backing plate and that loosens your backing plate and spindle. Pull those off slide your axle shaft in and reassemble. Only thing its...
Im not taking my truck in any deep water or anything like that so im not worried aobut sucking water up the lines. My main reason for doing this is i been getting pressure built up in my axles from those crappy bobblehead vents getting stuck. I thought the negative pressure differential would...
Am i missing something or was the origional post in this thread just kind of a dumb statment? I mean first off build one from what i think we all can conclude buying part by part isnt feasable for anyone no matter how much of a budget you got. The ones in the best shape that you buy you will...
I am fixing to redo all my vents and get rid of all the bobblehead vents and replace them with a single system all hooked to a poly line with all the axles and the tc and tranny teed into it as well. My question is some people on here are doing this already and putting the inlet in the air...
thanks guys just got this truck about 2 months ago i have found a lot of useful info on this on this site. I just finished putting wheel bearings, and all the seals, and u-joints in the axles. Bled the brakes and im itching to try it out to see how it drives now.
