Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

Didn't get much accomplished, rained heavy all day. I tried it with the ignition on and off without success, but I did not get a sputter out of it. I have the VOM now, but again I have to start traveling for my job so it does not look like I will get much accomplished until the weekend. Even...

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

Just got home from church, quick meal and then out to the garage to charge up the batteries, one by one after disconnecting them. I have borrowed a VOM to take a look at voltages for the injector pump and the glow plug relay.

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

I have not replaced the fuel filter or even changed the oil yet. I have only had the vehicle for a short time, I purchased it in Chicago and drove it home. My plans were to have a lot more completed on the Blazer by now, but my children have needed more help with rent and school loans than I...

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

Sorry guys, should have stated more. I depress the manual glow plug switch for 4-5 seconds, then turn key to the start position with the accelerator to the floor. The vehicle cranks easily but it does not run. This procedure was repeated 5-6 times without the vehicle starting. The fuel...

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

New glow plugs installed, connectors, and 12V supplied from supply block on firewall, resister connection has been taped. It did not start afterwards, I am really bummed out. :-( Suggestions on the next step, I hate to break down and have it towed to a shop.

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

Thanks for the explanation on the wiring, it is all starting to make sense now. All my paperwork is printed out, tools laid out, and I prayed to the green God's last night so I would not have trouble with removal of the GP's. Another cup of coffee to open my eyes and let the sun shine a little...

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

I had planned to run the 12 volts from the firewall connection, not from the first battery.

Does it change the performance during cold weather or prevent mushrooming of the plugs, or any other benefits?

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

You all have very good suggestions, most of which I would really like to try. But you also know that if they want to mess with you they will, one way or another. But I did think about getting my CCW permit so I could though my fully licensed machine gun on the dash of the Blazer when traveling...

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

Keep in mind guys the question was not ether or no ether, it was the wiring on the firewall. :) I did not want to install the new glow plugs and turn it over only to fry the new set or something worse. I love the beast way too much to do that to it. We usually wear Hawaiian shirts on Fridays...

If I use an olive oil based spray can I lower my Cholesterol? Sorry, I digress. Are there any changes I need to make on the firewall wiring to use the new GP's?

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

I am not crazy about the situation either, but the young breed of officers we have now are very cold and stiff. We used to work with the police to watch the neighborhood and notify them when something looked out of place, now it appears the police are suspicious of everyone and everything...

Request for GP replacement assistance - Police Involved

I have an 1985 M1009 Blazer that has stopped running, which I believe to be glow plugs. My plan was to simply change them and be on my way. But it appears to be a little more complex than that. Because of my work schedules I have not been able to work on the vehicle for the past few weeks so...

Chief, Thanks for the tip. I like simplicity and it does not get much simpler than that. Order will be placed today.

    Findlay parts(2011)

I'll sure be ready for next year. I hear they even had a tactical quiet, forced induction refrigeration unit for keeping those perishable military parts cool. Brilliant!

    Findlay parts(2011)

Oh man, what did I miss in Findlay? Is this an annual show or a spur of the moment get together. I now have a CUCV and only live 25 miles from Findlay, I want to go too. :jumpin:

    Fabed a Center Console M1009

Nice find, I jumped into my blazer the first day to drive it to work with my coffee cup in hand, looked around the drivers area and just started to laugh. Next day I had a nice black cardboard box with two holes cut in it to set the cups into. That will get me buy until I can pickup an ammo...

Another Noob in Ohio Picks Up a M1009

I'll try the desert camo and see what she says, she wants a solid forest green. I told her she gets to pick the color as soon as I get to paint her white minivan something new that I pick. LOL! I hope that the mechanicals are that good also, first the starter relay and then the fluids will...
