I even made the hole a little bigger where the linkage passed thru the sheet metal. Didn't help with the binding of the linkage.
I run the set at full throttle for cooldown just no load. Then as I'm ready to shut down I push the throttle in and shut down the set as it's idling down. It...
If I leave my throttle control knob out when shutting down upon my next start I have to fondle the throttle linkage as you describe. I have 2 002a's and it happens on both machines. Something binds in the linkage unless the throttle knob is pushed all the way in. I must start with the throttle...
$270... wow.
I bid on 2 different ones without tops and both went for around $500. I also bid on 1 of the 116a3 frame lots. That lot went for over $500 too.
I was in the 300's. I'm about to give up on bidding -- they just sell for too much.
$270 was a steal.
Thats definately interesting and your hydraulic ram certainly moves fast. I'm curious how this will work under load with the slow 1800 rpm's of the hydraulic pump. Definately not going to reach full pressure but I wonder if that will matter with all that extra horsepower.
Tonage on a...
Anyone have a fix for the ball and socket connection at the Injector pump?
What happens is the ball and socket connection keeps coming apart. It's the one on the lower end of the linkage with the spring in it. Connects the arm from the throttle adjuster to the IP. My fuel shut off solenoid...
OK, a couple of thoughts on idiot proofing, first issue is batteries.
Yes there is electricity under normal conditions. A 24 volt float charger is a good idea.
Also these engines are notoriously hard to start in the cold, so I would strongly consider some type of block heater
Block...
Ok Here's some more info...
The Mep will be used as backup power for my sisters home in NH. I'm in NJ.
I'm doing the best I can to idiot proof this thing for them. Her husband is all thumbs.
I am mounting the Gen on a trailer. I will be building an enclosure out of angle iron, sheet metal...
I'm trying to decide which weight oil to use for a Mep doing winter backup duty in NH. My problem is with the cutoff temps for 10 weight and 30 weight.
10 weight up to 30 degrees
30 weight over 30 degrees.
The problem is that what oil should you use when the temps fluctuate between 20...
I had the same problem with a 002a. What I found was when the solenoid shut the system down it would push far enough to bind the fuel linkage against the side of the hole in the shroud. When bound it would cause the long springed assembly to be slighlty bent. This was stopping the shaft from...
I didn't take the seller as a scum bag at all. We did settle on a price. He didn't seem upset at it when we talked, In fact he said "that sould pay some of my bills".
My fault for not running home and getting the cash. I wanted to check here 1st before I jumped.
He's out of work, got...
No glory on a Generator here... Guy's been avoiding me the whole weekend.
Just got an email --- Big storm caused power outage. Used the generator for 15 hours straight. No question about power generation. won't take anything less than $1,500.
I'll keep shopping.
There was no question...
Joe, Thats it in south river. I called and talked to him today. Says he ran it for over an hour after I left and it was making power. Something's got to be loose in the wiring somwhere. My guess is at the main breaker.
I told him I'd take it. He needs to get all the paperwork and parts...
Carl, Thank you. I most certainly will open up that side of the machine and see what kind of workmanship went into the rewire. I too have spent many days undoing someones good intentions.
The generators intended use would be to provide back up power in NH. I have some land in Warner and my...
Thanks for the replies.
I do remember the add saying that the stock stuff was taken out to make it idiot proof. I don't know how it's wired but the 3 phase stuff is removed for further idiot proofing. Those spilt nut connectors are supposedly disabled. It has a 240 volt receptacle along with 4...
So I've been looking at a MEP002 and finally had a chance to go check it out. It's mounted on a civy trailer. Trailer is in good shape. Generator has the quiet kit too. (ASK?)
Anyway, The guy was asking $1,999 for it. CARC paint is peeling which he supposedly has replacements. Generator...
We have been in email contact for about 2 weeks. He seems like a decent guy and certainly seems capable with his trucks. I don't doubt its a good truck for the money it's just me. I'm trying to convice myself that I need this truck. I definately want it but don't need it if you can understand...
