Install a block heater so the engine is somewhat pre-warmed. It does not make the heater work better, but decreases the warm up time and makes for easier starts in the cold.

Yep, exactly the same. New starter, a month to get around to putting it in. Starter sticks and disconnected teh batteries and they sparked when reconnected. Unplugged the relay under dash and no problem hooking up batteries. The relay was brand new. Used a push button for the starter...

diamondback LOVE my diamondback on my 2500hd silverado. I have the 2 atv side load option. The funny part is "How many people ask how did you get those up there?" It is great to watch their faces when my wife and kids are with me and I say "We just each grab a wheel and seti it up there!" :-P

If it is just melted wiring, I would replace the melted stuff and it will probably run. Possible to keep the one you like best and sell the other to pay for repairs and upgrades for the keeper. If you dont want the burned one I would be interested at $600.
