1st week of Dec will drive my 3/4 cargo van from Fort Bragg (Fayetteville) NC area to Albany NY and back at end of week. Will have space available both there and back. Also have Reese hitch good for 7k.
I have had them on several vehicles. You get what you pay for. Get the cheep wireless one from Pep Boys, and you will hate it. The one on my full size Chevy cargo van is great. It is the one from Pioneer, and was a bit pricey
I started at the valve stem and worked my way in from there. Was too leary of messing with any bolts/nuts. Seen too many things get launched that way. Very good entertainment value if you can watch someone else do it from a safe distance!
Mine came from the SC National Guard. They disabled the CTIS, and pumped red RTV into everything on the front passenger tire. That took a while to clean out. Same pressure measurment problem you have.
Why not just put if in line with the neutral switch? KISS! If installed on the passenger side of.the shift column, driver would not.see.it. Any keyed SPST switch should work fine.
How deep are your pockets, and how hard core do you offroad?
As this is a daily driver, on paved roads most of the time, limited slip in rear, open front diff.
Avoid full lock up automatic as they can be a bit exciting when powering through a corner.
Next step up would be ARB Air lockers...

If you get pulled.over by a DOT cop or HP, you can get a ticket for being 3,000 lbs over weight without having any cargo. They have started doing this already in some areas of NC.
My A3 is tagged for 24,000 lbs.
If yours is rebuildable, Allison would rebuild it and gjve a 3 year warranty. That is what I did. Otherwise,.you are looking for a good used trans. If it is not rebuildable, you would need to come up with a good core to send in.
When looking for a replacement trans, found the engines being pulled all going for $4,000 to $8,000. And, they appear to often be sold before they even get pulled out of the A3s being stripped.
Oh, back in the day, I used to work as a welder in between electrical jobs. As a production welder, we used straight CO2 on mild steel. It does splattered a bit, but you sure get good penetration. In fact, you will need to.turn the heat down a.notch.
I have the Hobart 180.(120.VAC) and wished I had bought the 187 (240 VAC). The 180 is a good machine, I just need a little more. By the way, you should not use pure Argon with mild steel, you should use the Argon/CO2 mix for proper fusion. Straight Argon is for Aluminum and stainless. Just...
