Update on this...
Spent some time trying to isolate this.. looked very closely at the front driveshafts and nothing is moving out of place that is noticeable.
The tires are not low at all.
I put it in low and the thump got **REALLY** bad.
I still can't see anything obvious at all. We...
Ok got it resolved... My first mistake was the assumption that a chicom manufactured box would be wired correctly. I looked over most of it, but missed this part.
They had the line screws jumped to the load screws.. like you would do to a normal plug with the join tab removed.. removed the...
I added a 100amp power box to my 803. I wanted the flexibility of a 50amp, 30amp and 20amp outlets. (Pics attached)
I removed the normal cable pass through, and moved it outside the generator, then got a plain octagon cover plate cut a hole for conduit and added 1in flex conduit to connect to...
It was parked on dirt before and is now.. The thump sounds very "Mechanical". it also does this sound at all speeds, on any surface.
Ill take another look at the tires...
This M923 has sat for about a year. When we bought it, it had sat longer, but got it started, freed the brakes and drove it home... ran great... now when we go to move it.. it has a noticeable "THUMP, THUMP, THUMP" when rolling... it gets faster as we go, but not at the same speed as the drive...

This truck has had some gremlins early months, but since has been fine.. then....
It started to not want to charge, that is getting low voltage when running. I figured it was the batteries. So I was gonna take it to the shop and swap them out. On attempting to drive there, it wouldn't shift...
Well about a month ago I'm told that the water pump "stuck" and started smoking the belt... but when they shut it off and when restarted it was fine.. so it fits..
Update - apparently I'm a bit addicted at this point... I bought an excellent MEP-802a and an MEP-803a.. neither ran when I brought home, but within an hour had both going.
I see why everyone says the 802 is the backup unit to the 831... my God it's awesome...
Sure lucky I have such a...
I recently changed all the belts on our m936 wrecker. This truck doesn't get tons of use but is started every other day or so. Today we used it to flat tow an m1085 LMTV about 2 miles to a storage yard (I know it's undesirable to flat tow the lmtv) when we got there the water pump on the 936...
Uhh ok, not sure how that could of been gleaned from that but..
No i get that having a spare is key, and I do plan on that, but also having spares on hand is also.. am I the only one who keeps a spare starter and alternators etc hand for rapid repair of vehicles and key equipment?
It's gonna...
