I had a 1940 Highway Trailer Co. K-38 trailer. Sold it this summer. FYI, Jackson Barracks Military Museum in New Orleans has a 1917 Cadillac staff car and a 1917 Renault FT-17 light tank.
I believe its a mobile small arms field repair shop. Looks all original, including black out marker light over left front headlight, tow hooks on bumper, van windows and rather rare eight-hole "Budd" rims. Its missing a massive flat military grill guard.
Nothing on it says military CUCV. Civilian grill guard, civilian rear body, chrome mirrors and A-pillar lights, Chevy badges on fender, chrome bumper, gasoline engine. Although it could be a COTS military truck, its not a CUCV in the true sense of the acronym.
