So i found a 6.2 blazer being parted out with a 700r4. Does anyone have a pic of the mysterious TV bracket thats on a truck so i can show the owner to see if its still there or so i know for myself and can pull it. All ive been able to find is pics of the part already pulled. Is it this part...
Yeah it actually performs like a truck now. Definite notice in power increase. It wont roast the tires but sure moves alot faster when you hit the stupid peddle. Worth it for me, i think i maybe have 1K into my kit. I sourced all my parts used from a 6.5.
I turboed mine using parts from a 6.5, cheaper and readily available. Theres been a lot of threads on here about it its not to hard to do. Your transmission will be fine as long as its in good shape and not already on its last legs.
Truck looks great! Would love to see how you do the radio setup. Ive got a CB ive been meaning to install in an overhead console on my roll cage for a while now just havent gotten around to it as theres always something else to do in it of more importance.
Great, thanks for the help you guys are awesome! My lower part of the dash that covers the column is already off, been that way for a year or so now. Do i need to drop the two bolts that hold the column up to the dash to get to it? Also is this the right part to replace...
I was adjusting my headlights and switching between high and low beam when the turn signal lever stopped clicking and going in between high and low and is just stuck on low. What did i break exactly? The switch itself which i see is a relatively cheap part or the turn signal hi/low lever? Just...
Yeah, dont plan on converting it to 12v but would really like to have AC this summer. I thought about the rooftop mounted AC but there pretty bulky and i like to take the top off in the winter.
Is there anyone whos running an aftermarket AC on there CUCV and has a turbo? I looked at the nostalgic air but theres not to many details if itll work with my turbo or even how it mounts. I'd be fine with an underdash mounted kit as i also have roll bar that would make taking the dash apart a...
According to LMC sight the burb tanks are abut 6 inches longer than the Blazer tanks. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/csb/full.aspx?Page=57
Im going to contact Aero and ask for the dimensions of theirs. I dont have room over the wheel wells because i have a roll cage and bars run above the...
I'm looking to put a larger fuel tank in my m1009. About the only options i see are the Aerotank 40 gallon tank. Pricey but nice to have a 40 gallon capacityhttp://www.aerotanks.com/vehicles/chevy.html, and the 31 gallon Suburban tank that's about half the price. Is there any other choices out...
Thanks for the imput. I have newer 2 in lift springs i put on a few years ago and a 2 in block in the rear. Didnt replace the front frame/shackle bushings tho i did it on the cheap instead of doing it right. Since i will have the rear springs out im going to do the rear shackle bushings to.
Im going to be swapping out my sagging rear springs on my 86 m1009 soon and want to swap the shackle bushings as well. Looking at the prothane bushings they have 2 sizes 1 3/8, and 1 1/2. Does anyone know what size they are for our trucks?
Whered you get the bigger fuel tank and what capacity is it?
For my mods function and reliability took the forst priority.
New h4 headlights
Headlight harness
New starter(mine burned out)
New glow plug relay ( old one cracked)
Dog head relay
Turbo
2 in lift kit
rollcage
The last were the just...
I never had a CDR on my truck when i got it. It had a breather coming off of the filler and it made a mess. Oil all over the place and on the hood liner. I have a turbo also and got a cheap intake and that makes a 90 degree bend and filter from the parts store. I drilled a hole and put a fitting...
$600 seems like alot for the headers and the amount of power youd gain from them. I got my turbo setup for around that same price from a 6.5. Factor in a few other parts needed like the oil feed and return lines for the turbo, and new downpipe and exhaust and it seems like youd gain alot more...
I love my turbo, it will probably be alot cheaper to add a turbo to your existing motor thatn to swap a vortec in it. You can get all the parts for under a grand if you shop around. Its not very hard to do either. It still gets god mileage also in the high teens on average. I doubt youd get that...
