NO it is not modified and I haven't heard of the doghead mod. I know very little about electrical and I wasnt sure what was wrong or what to replace before I start ripping things apart. I will look into the relay mod tho.

Thanks I am slowing realizing the same thing. It appears that they used the same valve for 1/2 ton - 1 ton trucks. Hopefully it works. worst case I wasted $10 at the junk yard
Can anyone tell me the tie rod or part number I need for the drivers side of a m1008? Napa said that they come in two different sizes and I dont have the original part.
Just noticed my main blackout light in the grille didn't work. Upon further investigation, I found that the metal light bulb holder is completely rusted out along with the metal mounting brace. Anyone know where to get another one or best way to build one?
Swiss is right. They weren't designed to dump, but can if desired and at your own risk. Aluminum is nice, but I hope you don't want to modify or fix anything on the box. You know how hard it is to weld aluminum??
Almost forgot. If you plan to cover the bed or your purchase doesn't have bows and railings it is much easier to make and/or purchase these items for the M101 series. They have basiclly kept the same compatiable style since the 1960's. If you don't want to spend the money buying pre-made...
