ok first off great post! i have enjoyed reading it. I am considering either an sm465 or the nv4500, but my real question is the drain tube? Why is this even needed couldn't it just be tapped and plugged?
i have a 1028 and had thought about just pulling the bed off of it and putting the body, but aren't the frames differant? at the first part of this thread it was mentioned that the 1010 frame was extended an extra foot. plus if i bought a complete 1010 i wouldn't want to convert it to an...
ok i will keep you in mind on the crosses.. and another good point on the seats. right now im and just trying to get as much info and peoples thoughts before buying it. in my mind the idea sounds good and on paper even better, but i know some times not everything that sounds good is really fisable
thanks guy this is great info and pic.. thinking the sealing off of the door on the front of the body is the way i will go.. unless of course a 1010 cab falls from the sky..lol
is the rear window like a solid plate? and doesn't the body have a rubber seal that goes all the away around, kind of like the ones on a camper shell back in the day that you could take the back window of the truck out.
I have the opportunity to pick up a ambulance body and frame with the rear end, no cab or front end. I want to turn this into a Overland vehicle, and use it to go camping with the kids.. My question is can a cab from a regular truck be modified to work? Any pictures of similar projects, and...

I have been looking into this as I have purchased a m1008 that does not turn over. hoping it is just a starter and not a locked up motor. anyway adaptors for the tranny you may want to check out destroked.com also i have found a company that has a whole new bolt in front crossmember it is...
i feel like a D.A. as soon as i posted i went back through and found a post about this a page or tow back.... can we say hi im the new guy... thinks for repling tho.. I think I'll try it with no swaybar and if it sways more then my liking then i will get the ord kit... thanks again!
Nice looking truck Cucvnut! I'm in the process of lifting my truck and was wanting to use the zero rate blocks and wfo plates. My only concern is not being able to hook the sway bar back up with this set up. How does ur truck handle on the road?
hey guys. im new to the hobby and im sry to hyjack the post...but i noticed you say you could replace it with a tilt column... is there any modifing involved and would i need to stick with a column from a diesel or would a gasser work? kind of a big boy and tilt would be great..
ok i'm a nobbie to the hobby, but so far i have really enjoyed my m1008 i picked it up a few weeks ago from a friend and have been doing little things here and there. my question is concerning the steering column, how hard is it to install a tilt column from a civilian truck into mine. is the...
