I just bought a 1944 GPW with MB motor and rebuild tag. the number on the frame (drivers side top frame rail close to the shock mount) matches the data plates. some rust, missing some small parts. good engine and transfer case. it cost me $5000. I would like to see some for $2500 in the shape...
my 1st EUC took less than 3 weeks so be prepared. haul it if you can, it's worth the peace of mind and cheaper if things go wrong. Sparta has a loading dock, people who will help and are flexable to work with time wise.
drove my M35A3 for the first time the other day and noticed a rattle from behind the cab. checked it out and the emergency brake seems to bang against the drum when driving making a terrible sounding rattle. the spring may be a little weak. anyone have experience with this? the truck looks like...
I was looking at the very same truck. had my $3000 bid ready and hestitated till the time ran out. just seems a little too high for a shop van and I coundn't commit. the condition ran these up even though some had brake issues, like the 1966 did.
I'm sure they are compensated well through GL. my dealings were very good with them. they tried to start and move my truck for me. Mike let me know what was going on with it to the best of his knowledge. it would start then die.turns out the fuel check valve was stuck mostly closed. I found this...
I talked to a mechanic today that went to school at Allison years ago and is familier with the AT1545. he said it was designed to work with 15-40w oil. if the fluid and filter is kept up, this setup should last many years and thousands of miles.seems several people are having trouble after...
the deuce made the 75 mile drive home today and ran like a champ. added parts and bled brakes.paid a premium for it but it was close and is a very nice truck in great condition. very satisfied with my purchase.thanks to all who responded
already took care of that. I will install the new pump then charge the system and bleed the filters. that is my plan anyhow. took the fuel shut off cover off and everything is working fine there on the IP. once home I will install all new filters and give it a good service. starter is having...
hard top w/heater. no brakes and other issues according to the turn in sheet.
I am hoping for someone with a set of tow bars close to pull it home.
glad my first recovery is a close one, you can't plan enough for one of these unless you have a low boy with winch of your own or another deuce with...

any idea who made it and date of mfg?
I have already bought the truck. nice looking rig ,well cared for. I will take pics and record all data and frame numbers on Monday and come back here with the correct data. they have been easy to work with at GSA and this should be no problem to work out. I just need a little evidence.
looking for year of mfg for my new deuce. it came from IL NG 3637th Maint. GSA has it titled as 1988 with a vin of 00022526543 AM General M35A2.
they had two other titles screwed up for me and this one looks suspect. I'm thinking early 70's any idea's?
they also say it's an 8 cyl but we al know...
