In the early 70's, while on active duty, would set up an 11 meter long wire antenna and fire up a running spare AN/GRC-106 in a retrans rig. We could catch the skip and talked mostly into the NW states from Texas. First Sgt was a ham operator, and even fessed up years later at a reunion. He...
Don't forget to take a camera and let some folks take a look at the pix if your in question. $1500 could be a great price even for a decent reweld.

Zenith's are a bit finicky but I don't run with any choke, and you shouldn't have to. You have other gremlins to chase if your having to jack up your carb to compensate. Red River has NOS Zeniths for $150, soft and hard rebuild kits are cheap and readily available. I had some hiccups in the...
By far the majority of M416's I've seen and owned have shown delivery dates in 66 and 67. Last thing I'd do is replace a military harness for a cheap China civi harness. I use Barge or Master's rubber cement and a small brush to lay some cement where your harness is fraying at the connectors...
I'm always up for a local MV display. Triple Crown is having an MV theme cruise on Aug 24. It deserves more than Ken's deuce and my M151 in attendance.

Hey 319,
Thanks for posting the picture of my recent acquisition, the M762 flat bed trailer. Had it delivered to me at the Mid-Ohio all the way from Macon, Ga. It's new mission is to be used as a caisson trailer for NE Ohio military honors funerals. Plans for the restoration are coming...
Hey gem,
I agree with Moose, early 70's AMG pre-emissions M151A2. With the number you have, muttguru will pin it down for you. Marine front bumper but Army wheel hubs. In pictures 2 and 6 the gas can is backwards, but in pic 4 it's correct. Very nice indeed! That's a good lokking M151A2...
Hey Ken,
Heard you made the Falls show last week on the north side by the fountain. I'm usually on the south side in front of the hobby shop. Went past the Hudson cruise last evening on the way home from dinner, only saw 2 cars and no OD at all. Will definatly do the August MV show at Triple...
I agree with cstaup. Take a good look underneath and get an idea what it will take to fix it up. If it's a candidate for restoration, don't let Quickwit's uneducated inability to replace a U joint be a reason to pass it up. U joints are not an issue on these jeeps, mostly just rust.

Cuyahoga Falls checkin in. M151A2 with no heat so winter is hibernation time for me. The Falls has a downtown cruise-in on Monday nights and July 4th is military vehicle night. This past week we had a few hundred cars, a pair of 151's and an M998 on display. It'd be good to see more of the...
Thanks for the bean soup Kip! Always a pleasure getting together. Seems I heard part of the 1AM Bowling Tournament and the 4AM static broadcast. Next time the meals on me. See you at the Mid-Ohio Annual Pizza Convoy.

Most deep wells, still won't get them out. 13/16" Snap-On deep wells are just long enough to do the job. I was lucky and the previous owner included one and a breaker bar in the tool kit.

I'll be there Friday and Saturday. There is a Pizza Convoy both nights for all the display vehicles. We'll drive into Sunbury to PJ's Pizza at 1730 hrs. I'll be the guy in the 1st Cavalry hat and the M151.

Hey Bob,
Don't think I can make it to Sunbury, but if at all possible I'll be there. Sounds like a good cause, and always a pleasure to take a meal with you. Any chance you can join the coast to coast for a day? We'll be in your neck of the woods from Monday PM thru Wed. PM. I join in on...
