I spent a few hours looking around there on Friday afternoon. I wish I could have stayed longer so I could watch all trhe fun, but I had to be back at work by 7a.m. on Saturday. I didn't see any of the MVCC North Texas guys, but got the opportunity to meet a few new people and chat awhile.
My M1009 had the same problem. When I had the windshield replaced about a month ago, it was noted that a small hole had been drilled on both sides at the lower corners of the windshield under the rubber seal. You can lift the edge of the windshield rubber at the lower corners to see if the...
Mine required an ignition key switch (normal CUCV key worked in the doors and tailgate but not the ignition), a fresh set of batteries (I scored a couple of Armasafe Hawkers), and the glow plug card was missing.
Those things done she cranked right up.
"Hi, John!", I'm bad with names also so I have fun when the shoe is on the other foot.
Wish you could have made it too, but I know it would have been quite a drive.
I was talking about you last night in reference to the "law book" I carry with me for running with registered bumper numbers...
I have Hawker Armasafe Plus 6TAGM's (1225 CCA) that I got used and recovered as per TB 6140-252-13. They have been in my M1009 for about a year now and I have had no problems with them.
Here is the link to the TB http://www.cerdec.army.mil/directorates/docs/c2d/TB9_6140_252_13.pdf
Let me know if this works for you.
I have been lurking here for about a year and looking through the TM's to absorb knowledge....I just don't post very often.
Still trying to get my M1009 in top shape. I recovered it last March out of Saginaw, TX. Going to do a spin-on filter mod...
You said you replaced the ignition switch already. You might check to make sure the plug on the steering column is still completely plugged in.
Have you replaced the key cylinder? Take a look at the TM-20 figures F-3 (Engine Compartment Ignition Circuits) and F-4 (Cab Ignition Circuits). The...
I consistantly get 18 to 21 mpg on my stock M1009. Combination of driving 65 to 70 mph on city highways and around town. 31x10.50 tires on stock wheels.
After sitting for the last couple of weeks in the driveway, I finally got around to installing my new GPR I bought for $9.00 (thank you TAMECROW). The glowplugs cycled and she started right up.
There was no part number on the relay and it came sealed in plastic in an unmarked box. The relay...
Just ordered two of these on Saturday night and they arrived in the mail yesterday. Hope this solves my problems. The old one tested bad per tm-20.
I also installed new AC 60G's with new terminals, resistor bypass getting power from the 12v bus bar, and replaced fuel filter. I bled the fuel...
Ditto on what the Bully said . It took me several tries to get the connector on the new switch past the halfway point down the column.

$28.99 at NAPA...
Yes that was me. There was another guy from Fort Worth bidding also.
I manually activated the switch while both in the holder and out...no luck.
On the back of the turn signal cam there are two brass v-shaped clips with four springs under them. Maybe I got them in facing the wrong way. I...
Today I replaced the turn signal cam and now my brake lights don't work.
I went through the -20 to try and find the problem but nothing I found there fixed the problem.
The fuse is good and I'm getting power through the stop light switch (replaced it too today). I adjusted it and re-installed...
