M715 and a M416
1968 M715 and a 1966 M416 1/4 ton trailer. I tow it behind an M38A1 as well. This was my display at the Liberty Memorial / National WW I museum in Kansas City for 2011.
Here is what I did.
Alignment
New Shocks
Check PResssure regularly
I have a winch on mine. The extra weight in combination with bad shocks and too much air or too little air will cause this issue. I bought the Monroe shocks (yellow, but that is what 24087 is for)
Huge difference!!
I know this sounds strange, but, check the wires at the cannon plug to the turn indicator switch. These wires can cause all sorts of electrical issues. I had similiar issues a few years ago and a short to ground caused problems with the brake lights and turn indicators.
While it looks bad to display tags on MVs, especially during events, it is better than the alternative. Take Wisconsin law for example. They have a military tag that looks great, but there are limitations of where and when they can drive them on the roads. In Kansas, the MVPA local club...
Liberty Memorial - WWI Museum - Kansas City, MO - May 29-30
These pics were taken before the public started showing up. We estimated approximately 1500 people visited the WWI Memorial and our display on the mall. Many veterans come to the memorial each year and share their stories with us...
Here is the M416 Lunette. The tapered end slides into one of two holes, one for the M151 which has a lower mounted pintle and the other for a higher mounted pintle, such as a M38a1 or the like. Hope this helps.

Be careful buying a shovel from a surplus source. I bought 3 and found out they fit a HUMMV and not the normal Pioneer Rack for most MVs. Also, check ACE Hardware or any other older hardware store for wooden handle tools. I got the maddox and axe like that.
For the real test:
Get yourself a good gps device that will show MPH. Borrow your wife's Lexus, drive it 55 and check the GPS to be sure it matches the car's speedo.
Use this GPS to check your speed in the truck.
Larger tires will cause a false reading on a speedo.
Just a thought...
I painted a tan vinyl top that I had on a M105 and it looked really good. I painted it with 24087 spray cans. I have since got the correct top in green and gave the other to a friend. The top will wear faster if left outside. It still looks pretty good, but will need touchup every now and then.
Congrats on the truck!! I am just about complete with mine after 4 years. I just have the decals left and a few little things to do. Post your progress as you go. I didn't have a chance to do that and I wish I had. It could have saved me some $ since others may have extra parts you can...
I have the original 24 volt military convoy lights on my trucks. They have all metal parts and will take the vibration. They are getting harder to find. The ones that Saturn is selling are knock offs with plastic parts and will not last very long if they make the shipping trip to your house...
When I got my M109, I had a bad fuel injection pump and I searched all over for info. I ended up replacing it with another one, which I hope you DO NOT have to do! If you do, I would recommend taking the radiator off the truck and driver side fender off of the truck (it will make everything...
I would like to see one completely decked out as well! I have the long one, but it needs a bit of work on the rear doors. The shell is in good shape and the gulls have the hinges to hold them open. I am missing the reels though. I looked online for them but they were out. I have a set of...
