    few questions on injection pumps

I take the water sensor back. I looked years ago before all these web pages popped up. Looks like you can find the sensor after all. Good luck replacing the injection pump. Lots of fittings.

    few questions on injection pumps

That should be a big clue. Hope your water sensor hasn't gone. That was a difficult part for me to find when mine went. I think you would see the light on on the dash if that happened. This part is what I call made out of unobtainium.

    few questions on injection pumps

Bad fuel pump It was years ago. I may have checked the pressure coming out of the pump or filter assembly, but cant' remember. Since it was pretty easy to replace, (2 bolts I think), I just got a new one. I also remember I broke the pump drive rod installing the new one, so there was a...

    few questions on injection pumps

Check other stuff too I also had other similar problems with a bad fuel pump, which is much easier to replace than the injection pump. You probably know this, but water or air in the fuel filter can cause similar problems and it's easy to bleed both out. Good luck.

    few questions on injection pumps

Injection pump can go quickly Mine went from running great to failed pump in about 15 minutes. There is a disk in the original pumps that just wears out as I understand. Driving from point a to b one day I had to go through 3 gulches here in Hawaii (ravines I think they are called elsewhere)...

A couple electrical issues with M1009

Yeah. I have all the manuals. I kinda know this truck. It's just been a few years since I worked on one. On my first one I reverse engineered the glow plug card and rebuilt it. You can also bypass the card and just put a push button on the dash. So I was hoping for something not to difficult...

Why do people bash the CUCV?

My first was a great truck. 2 hour commute at 60mph every day for years, offroad anywhere I wanted to go, indestructible. That's why I just bought another. I put a large trace inverter in my original and it built our house. It still runs but needs a lot of rust repair. The one I just bought...

Just a few reasons it's good to own a CUCV...

When you are offroad and come across an unknown stretch filled with water, you can put it in 4-wheel HI, floor it, and hop through the end of the stretch, 3 foot holes not a problem. Watch for a bow wave above the roof if it's a smooth stretch of road though

A couple electrical issues with M1009

Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping the 17 volts from the bad gen1 had tweaked a voltage divider or some comparator on that light since it was not on with the 17 volts. And I was hoping the wiper issue was something outside of the switch since I really don't want to have to pull the...

    Stalling M1009

IP Pump When my IP went bad, I had a pretty quick loss of power pulling up a hill one day, It did die like yours after starting, and it also blew some black smoke when reved. Replacement is a bit of work too. I would check everything else before replacing. Air leaks at hoses, idle, fuel pump...

A couple electrical issues with M1009

Hi, I just bought an M1009 (my second one) and have been able to get all the electrical working for the safety inspection except for 2 things. One is the Gen1 light. I replaced both alternators as gen1 was outputting 17 volts across a new battery and gen2 just 12.5 volts, probably the battery...
