I was looking at my M101A3 and saw that one of the brackets that holds the bows when not in use is missing. Does anyone know where I can find one? I circled the part I am looking for in red in the attached picture.
TIA,
Bob Elliott
I have the whit chalky primer under the paint. I'll try the acetone test to see if I have water based paint.
Because I had the white chalky primer I knew I had to take the trailer down to bare metal and start over. I didn't want to inhale paint dust that could hurt me.
I have a M101A3 that I bought last summer to haul firewood. I store it in a carport so it is out of the weather but I see the paint flaking off in sections both inside and outside the bed. I would like to paint the inside of the bed with bedliner to protect it.
I read on this forum that the...
It turns out it was here: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/trailers/71810-anyone-removed-run-flat-inserts-m101a3-tires.html

I wieghed my wheels when I got my trailer. They were 165 pounds each.
I contiplated removing the run-flat inserts because I thought it may reduce the rolling inertia which woudl help my mileage to get the trailer moving and stopping. I read a few posts at the Hummer board about the run-flat...
I thought sure I woudl need a EUC and was shocked when I got the completed invoice. I expected to get the trailer two months later than I did and had to scramble to get time off work and plan the trip. I rounded up the materials to wire the lights for 12v, a pintle hitch and adapter, located a...
Before you change the brakes you should consider that the military designed these trailers to be towed off-road. I have had mine off-road with the brakes it came with and didn't have a problem.
There is a brake lock-out hole in the tongue that will disable the surge brakes if you need to. I...
I agree. A friend went with me to pick up the trailer. He was skeptical about the price I paid sight unseen. The whole ride home he looked back and said, "You got a good deal!"
My trailer had brand new brakes, brand new tires and bearings. The fluid in the master cylinder was so clear I...
OK. I remembered that I made a binder before I went down with the two threads that I used to wire my trailer. If I were you I would print these out and take them with you:

I bought a M101A3 from Barstow the end of May. No EUC and I picked it up the first week in June. I was expecting to wait 2 months and had to scramble to pick it up.
The trailer had new brakes, new bearings, new tires and shocks. It pulled like new. For reference the winning bid was $596...
Guys,
Thanks for the advice. The reason I posted the question is my truck gets 23 MPG on the highway. It is a 1997 Dodge 2500 4X4 with a 12 valve Cummins diesel engine with the 5 speed manual transmission. When I drove down to pick up the trailer I got 23 MPG. On the way up it dropped to 18...
That looks like a nice trailer other than the canvas.
I bought one in May from Barstow. It had wood sides and bows and an intact canvas. It had new tires, brakes and fluid. I paid $596 for it. I think the wripped up canvas may have worked to your advantage. Also you have the rear landing...
