I was thinking that the soft topper should seal off those areas where "extra" holes would allow leaking anyway. If it seals down on the bed rail anyway, it should be able to seal down onto the metal of the rack ( if its one continuous piece ).
Thanks for the info.
I believe the mounting bolts are along the "bedrail" and vertically where the hard top meets the "cab". I don't believe there are mounting bolts along the roof. If it fits, I feel like mounting along the "bedrails" would be enough. Its enough for a truck right? SO why not in a M1009?
Any response is helpful!
I was wondering about the connection at the "bedrail", the fit, and the seams. In the thread regarding roof racks, I believe the custom racks that were installed in a similar "around the shell" style did not leak.
I guess it depends on the thickness of the mounting...
So, I was wondering if anyone has tried to install an aftermarket "over/around" the camper shell style ladder rack on their M1009. See pic's for explanation.
I know you can bolt on some Thule racks, fab your own ( like I saw in a fairly recent thread about installing racks on M1009 ), but I was...
Not sure really...it seems to me that a big ole' deuce would draw more attention than a m1009. For the most part, it seems most people don't even realize they are running diesel...let alone some alternative, untaxed fuel.
I was just going off what I have read in other threads regarding samples...

I think the use of wvo and wmo and all waste oils is probably in a grey area in regards to legislation. Although, form what I...
Thanks guys...not sure if driving around in a m1009 would get much attention from any authorities looking to test fuel, guess I will find out.
I would like to get into the wvo, but the wmo seems like the cheapest, "easiest" entry point into running a waste oil for me. I have a wvo source, but...
So....I am in the market for a M1009, and the pipe dream is running it on wmo, wvo, along with standard pump diesel.
I was wondering if anyone in the Peoples Republic Of Maryland was running their machine on a waste fuel? Any issues with local gubment? How/where are you collecting, etc.? Any...
Good lord that was a quick bunch of replies! So...
Lives don't necessarily depend on me, although my boys need a way to school, and I need a way to get from job site to job site and back to pick them up, and well, without that I guess lives could depend on my transportation...no worky no money...
Daily Driver
So, I have been looking around at m1009's, and talking with owners I know, and it seems like the opinions are equally split. On one side the "daily driver" folks say "its an awesome daily!" and the other side I get "it's fun to put around town in, but not a daily driver, or...
