Several years ago our company rebuilt 50 or so "powerpacks" for the M113a1. They were the 6v53 with Allison tx100 transmission that was bolted to the engine via a "cross drive". This configuration placed the transmission alongside and parallel to the engine, with the transmission output shaft...
constant mesh backlash
I would verify with the Muncie or Chelsea guys about the requirement or lack of,
shimming or adjusting the backlash just because it is a constant mesh PTO.
The majority of all pto applications are CM as opposed to "Sliding Input Gear", but I believe they all need...
Any diesel injection shop will have a "junk drawer" full of assorted copper washers left over from various repair kits (I know the one I worked in had several), as well as "on size" or application specific individual washers. If you have a fuel shop in your area, and the sample washer to match...
The "business" end of the fuel pump is the small "cone shaped" cover on the lower rear with four attaching bolts.
Under the cover is a cylindrical tube that houses the orfice or "button" that controls the fuel "rail pressure", and the shims that govern the r.p.m.
the buttons are marked with a...
The 350 and400 engines are "NTC" family of 855 Cummins engines. They were configured as "Power Torque", "Formula", and "Fleet" designations, in a variety of horsepower, rpm ranges, and torque curves depending on performance, driveability, or fuel economy.
Horsepower ranges...
Will it spin all the way thru now? We supplied a LOT of 6.5 replacement engines to Uncle Sam, and the biggest
complaint was "Engine Knocks"....in almost every case it was a bad (stuck) injector from water /trash in the fuel.
I`ll bet you`ve got a win. May have a bug or two to work out, but like...
The Current A M General part number is 12460144-6
this evolved for 4L80E as plain 12460144 (nsn 3010 01 411 8490)
...then dash 1 dash 2 etc. depending on generation and requirement of the transmission. Back when we were researching them the -6 had no nsn assigned (probably does by now)...
JHoot51,
I guess I`m as fouled up as you are, because I understood your post. :lost:
I have friends in Fort Smith that operate a Heavy Duty Truck shop and parts store.
They should have information that will help you even if indirectly.
p.m. me if you still need the help and I`ll get you...
treeguy,
I`m kind of like you on the "low speed" terminology. There`s still a lot of mass moving pretty fast.
I`m not sure what the specs are on the pto ratio, but as a general rule a mechanical winch application would call for a ratio of around 50% of engine speed. Or maybe a little less...
doghead,
Most likely the reason they were concerned about the length was due to it`s relationship with maximum r.pm. Most driveline guys are taught a term called "half critical speed" that governs the max length vs. max r.pm.
The 120 wall tube and the fact that most winch applications are...
doghead,
It appears that hard work and perserverance carried the day.
Regarding your driveline damage and request for dimension, I would add to the equation the actual measurement of your truck from pto shaft to winch shaft. I`m not trying to get in your business, except that when I was...
I`m surprised that they would not sell CARC.
Our company purchased it from them in Green 383 last year, until we found
that we could buy it from our local Sherwin Williams (#s on receipt show 5012-32235 Gallon F93G105 MIL-DTL-53039C-T1) I`m not sure which portion of that is a part number...
We`re a grote Distributor in Dallas....here`s a guy at Grote that will help you.

I believe there may be some heat dissipation issues but I would ask the guys that engineered them.
If you can`t get in...
highsiera,
If you have trouble finding a gasket let me know. The Cummins part number is 130240
but they`re getting hard to find in the commercial world. We still rebuild a commercial variant of your pump, and should have seals, shafts, impellers, bearings, etc.
Good Luck
Hasbeen
I worked on a RESET project for FMTV a while back that had a lot of initial confusion regarding the powertrain availabilty. I never heard what the actual truth was, or credible
facts.
Supposedly, the 3116 early, and 3126 late cat engines were no longer available thru
Cat factory due to Tier 4...
Volvo
A possible answer to the Volvo question.
Cage code 2b157 (White Motors car and truck division)
replaced by cage code 62265 (Volvo Trucks of North America)
it wasn`t "Volvo" when it was manufactured...but the White company is now recognized by Uncle Sam as Volvo. So if the...
