It is starting to look as if it will cost more to fix the deuce. I have found a 1970 m818 for 1500. thinking it would be better to purchase it and bob it. I pulled the 460 only to find the frame hacked for the ford radiator and the transmission mounts destroyed.
I have the chance to purchase a m818 5-ton 6-6. I am currently working on a deuce. I want to run 16-20 tires. the 5 ton has the 250 horse cummins and the deuce has the 180 horse multi feul. i have no experience with either.which is more reliable?

I will check the transmission for the conversion. I think my best bet will be to use an adapter plate so that i can keep the original transmission. Is there anything else i should check for a conversion? Thanks
