About this time last year I bought two 08's at a local county auction.One still had the troop seat and the canopy bow's.The canvas was missing and the wood was badly rotted so basically all it was,was the frames and bracketry.I got $150 for those parts.

You cant put 3:08's in a M1008 axle(Dana 60) because the housing does not have enuf offset to accomadate the bigger pinion.You would have to get a Dodge Dana 61 front from a 88-90ish Cummins truck.They are slightly wider (about an inch on the pass side IIRC) so it wouldnt be a direct bolt in.

I have saw them with 3:08's and 3:42's.The 700/3:08 combo might be a economical choice but they make for a turd to drive.I have no data to prove it but I would think the 700 would work better with some 3:73's.
