    M35A3 alternator bearing replacement.

Bearing in and alternator quite. The front bearing on my AMA-5102UT Prestolite alternator ended up being a 6304 Timken by the dimensions, a local company had a Koyo bearing that crossed over. The original bearing had no makers marks or ID marks of any kind and was not a sealed bearing, the...

    M35A3 alternator bearing replacement.

Has any one tried to replace the bearings on the A3 Prestolite Model AMA-5102UT alternator on an A3? If so do you have the part numbers for the bearings? The TM parts manual 9-2920-225-34P does not show the bearings although the dissassembly procedures shows them.

What is the best way to balance 395's on MRAPs?

I have 395's on my A3, the CTIS has been removed, the wheels turn so slowly at the speeds we can run that they don't really need balancing. I run 45psi on mine but would probably be fine at 35 since at 45 the outer edge of the tread lifts slightly off the pavement.

The piece on the front of the fan is an air powered clutch mechanism that unlocks the fan and lets it freewheel when the engine is cold and locks the fan to the hub if the engine reaches a certain temperature. According to the tech manual, if it freewheels with no air pressure to it there is a...

    M35A3 CTIS Hub Seal Retainer

I depends on there condition, mine appeared to have been removed before and had some dents in the metal of the seal. When the army folks reassembled them they also improperly adjusted the wheel bearings a little loose and caused the air seal to wear on the bearing a little. The air seal holder...

    M35A3 CTIS Hub Seal Retainer

I used a high moly content wheel bearing grease. 1K miles on the repack so far, no apparent play in the bearings, this summer I am going to take them back apart to see how the inner seal is holding.

M35A3 rear wheel bearing packing, with photos

The outer bearing races are a press fit in the hub but the inner bearing assemble just slides off of the axle and stays with the hub when dissassembling, my seals appear to be okay even though i pushed the inner race and seal out of the outer race. I spent some time cleaning the seals before...

    Buying a M35A2 or M35A3?

All good but A3 for me. The A2s are a proven truck with a great track record. Although the A3s have a few issues (like CTIS, take it off), (expensive bearings, change over to A2 bearings if they fail), ( the "disposable" Cat engine, most of the A3s have so few miles on them that wearing the...
