Anyone in Florida have any leads on deuce insurance that doesn't require enclosed storage? Gulfway (The Hartford) isn't writing policies and Hagerty won't do it without the storage building.
Welcome from way down in St. Augustine. I haven't been in the museum in a while. I took my favorite WWII vet to the national museum in NOLA earlier this year and we stopped by the museum at Blanding on the way back through. Need to find the time to come over to GC. Your work looks good. Randy.
As I said in the first post, I already have the new old stock tanks as I did not want to risk the same problem with installing used tanks or by repairing the existing tanks. It looked to be pretty straight forward. I had already installed a retrofit government issued pull cable drain valve...
I took my '73 M109A3 for a spin on Memorial Day and when I returned to my house, cooled it off and shut it down I heard an air leak. Crawled underneath and realized I had a pinhole in one of my tanks. Rather than gamble on take outs, I got 2 NOS tanks. I searched the forums and didn't find...
1. I would thin unless you are using an airless sprayer. Thin what you need to get the sprayer to spray an acceptable fan pattern. ie:not splattering and not running.
2. Not sure about that. Depends on your scheme. I did my m109a3 in 3 color camo and it took probably 3 gallons total...
I did use the search function and didn't get any hits so here goes. I am thinking about using ceramic floor tile in the box of my 109. I have the opportunity to buy some 24x24" tiles at a good price, and I would like the convenience of being able to mop out the back. My fear is that the box...
I buy commercial coatings from my local (St. Augustine) Sherwin-Williams and they would not sell me CARC. They said I would need some special certification. I went with their Resilience line of acrylic paints and am happy with the results. You can find a lot of info if you search under...
I've been reading this thread and trying to figure out a way to help. I'm about an hour south of Blount Island. There are several SS members listing a Jacksonville address and they may have some insight. You could try contacting Dirt71,FlyUSN99,Bottlecap, or Moleary.
Have you tried pressurizing the cooling system to check for leaks? If the system is holding fluid, I would think it would have to be either stuck thermostat, bad water pump, or like NDT said, plugged radiator.
Did some searching and didn't find anything although I seem to remember a mention of it before. I may have some time this week to go to a junkyard and do some searching for a receiver hitch for my deuce and I thought I'd try and find a suitable remote brake reservoir. I know there are ones...
Wow, that is pretty cold. Buy his truck and then taunt him.
Good luck, Deuce. Thanks again for the boarding ladder, it is perfect. Out of the way for any assistance but hoping everything goes well.
In addition to your rebuild kits of course you will need a hone. I would bring some new cylinders just in case you have ones that are too far gone to rebuild. I found that the WC's on my 109 were different sizes on the bleeder screws (some standard, some metric). When I recovered mine it had...
