1 I would have to find and buy more stuff.
2 I am concerned about all the brake fluid needed to operate 12 wheel cylinders.
3 I want to make this as field repairable as possible.
If it was going to be a local toy or a bobber I'd go with the hydro boost. I have heard you guys say how...
For anyone intrested I figure that the flanges would make good poor mans lockouts on the front. I just dont want to cut up good parts to get the flanges
off of two 135 or 211 axles.
Thanks for the helpful info doghead. I"ll remember it and where I got it.

Ok I just tried to post in the parts wanted and got "you do notsufficient privileges to access this page" . Am I too new here or is someone mad at me?

Butch I reread your post. Iam not talking about the backing plate on the axle.
I'm talking about the two piece brake drum. The manual calls the center part
that mounts to the hub the back. this center of the brake is what is differant.
the 135 has ( on the rears ) a deeper offset so when...
I wasen't infering that you didn't have to chang beds (frgured that was a given). My manual givs part# 7411472 for all 211 and 135 hubs.
brake back for all 211 and front 135 = #7413231
brake back for rear 135s =#7413232.

For lug nuts you do use 135 or front 211 or 135 nuts.
Look at fig. 180 on page 286 of tm-1819. The top half is of a 211. The bottom half is a 135. You can see the dual wheels at the top. If you look at the brake back you will see that the 135 has a deeper dish or offset. This is so the drum...
In doing research I find these old threads that have inacurate information in them. I figure that when someone tries to search and finds them it really makes it confussing. I don't want to step on any toes as I just joined up but I haven't seen any accurate info on this, but I may have missed...
Can you take a couple of pictures.? I know I'll have to do it too. What makes the brake drum lock up when its been sitting for a long time?
Are you getting any snow or rain out of this? We are supposed to get 12-15+. And 45 mph wind

I'll probably not mess with the reverse buzzer till I forget the first time. The front shaft will be removed most of the time anyway. I'll have all the levers you listed plus a shifter for the auxillary transmission, and 2 winch controls. That reminds me, does anyone know if you can reverse the...
Thanks for the reply Gunfreak. You confirmed what I figured. What I am thinking is a switch at the bottom of the transmission shifter that operates a buzzer in reverse. It would be easy to forget. Do you do any prospecting?

I don't have a complete 211 or 135. No engines or transmissions just the chassis. There is a cab with I think a non original but good hard top, and a beat up bed on the 135. My Ford van is on Lp though. IMPCO 425. I used to run the stepvan on LP when it was my service truck. I'm still trying to...
Thanks guys keep me in line here. 73m819 that"s awild van. I have a 4x4 conversion on a old Ford van in the works also. it will have a little dana 60 in front though. I'll need a dingy for the motor home.:)
454=good power on Lp and I already have 211 and 135 stuff.

Hi to the forum members. I’m going to have some questions so I thought I‘d better quit being a guest and join up. I’m going to mount an aluminum stepvan body on a 211 chassis. The frame will be stretched 2 or 3 feet. 454 Chevy with a 5 speed. 4 speed over drive auxiliary transmission. Intended...
