Also, any marine supply store should have plenty of 24 VDC switches to choose from.
I got mine online from some marine supply store (see post # 62 above). They were about the same price as automotive switches.
Just a suggestion.
I'm more concerned with electrical fires than fuel or paper fires with my truck. CO2 is also a good way to avoid the severe corrosion caused by other units.
CO2 extinguishers certainly have multiple uses.
I use Halon extinguishers in my truck, trailer and garage. They are a little more expensive, but there is no corrosive destruction to the vehicle if you have to use one. After seeing what happens to wiring and other equipment when standard commercial extinguishers are used, I think Halon is well...
That looks like it was originally a telex radio shelter for the 3/4 ton dodge M37 trucks. I believe they were GRC46 series shelters (GRC46 A, B or C). I have one sitting in my garage awaiting restoration. They are Korean War era to early VN period with GRC-19 radio and telex capabilities.
WOW! Sounds more like you live on the North Slope of Alaska than northeastern Idaho. I didn't know the snow got that bad in Bonners Ferry / Moyie Springs Idaho!
Sounds like quite the project to build a plow truck. Just for your use, or commercial work?
Good Luck with your project!
I think I...

What sort of mods are you thinking about and what are the environmental challenges?
Length is an issue. The Canadian M-37s had bigger engines (still flat head in line sixes, but slightly longer) and they had to move the radiator forward. This means you will also need a longer hood, etc. Measure the Jeep 4.0 and see if it will fit. You will also need to think about changing...
Welcome to the site!
I will look for some photos of my trailer, but the basic numbering system is the same. Unit and serial (license) number that is painted / vinyl letters on various areas of the trailer depending on the unit (command discretion).
If you send me your email, I'll send you the...
65 inches sounds about right. I was measuring my cargo bed last summer for a new rubber mat, and as I recall it was 64 inches wide (inside width).
Those bows are not for a M715 (M715 came after the M37 series). CCKW, or WC, I don't know.
Good Luck!
The leather straps would indicate that these bows are for an early M37 series truck (M37 or M42 Command Truck). There was a switch to cloth straps amd spring buckles on the cargo tarp at some point early on, but I'm not sure when.
We BE Webbing might know when that occurred.
This makes it a little easier to make suggestions, now that you have defined the performance envelop.
The Canadians used a 251 (265?) c.i. engine in their trucks with a different transmission. I believe they had a higher top speed.
The real problem you face is not the engine but the rest of...
Welcome to the site!
You may break things. If you make the M37 go fast, you'll find that the brakes are inadequate to stop your truck. You'll also probably need a different transmission and probably a different transfer case because the stock one may over heat. The gearing in the front and rear...
The A pin is 24+ VDC. The B pin is ground the C pin is unused.
Wm Perry has the connectors (I believe the part number was given earlier in this thread, if not I can post it this weekend). It is easy to make your cable(s), which allows you to customize the length to your needs. Unless the new...
An acquaintance of mine has acquired a new to him HMMWV. He decided he wanted a HMMWV instead of his M37, which was fine with me because I acquired his M37.
He asked me about his bumper numbers on his HMMWV, because I so easily read the numbers on the M37 bumpers.
Unfortunately, I have no clue...
