OK, I've been outta the loop for a little while but here's an update on Project Corporal Punishment. With my focus on expedience rather than pretty or clean, I bobbed my truck down to a 4X4 in 2 weeks at my buddy's place in San Bernardino. I got her loaded up and we moved back out to the South...
I was thinking of a pocket bike tucked under the bed of my bobbed deuce. In case of breakdown, drop the bike and go get help. lol (Of course it'd have to be painted OD green to match my truck.)
Ok so being that I'm the owner of a bobbed deuce, and a proud daddy to a beautiful 8 month old daughter, I feel like I should chime in here. My ADHD-enhanced creativity makes me picture your cab being grafted to an early or same vintage Chevy or GMC panel Delivery truck rear section. any size...

Ya probably want to keep it under 45mph when you shift "on the fly" just to be on the safe side. Even if you have a spare t-case sitting around, it's still a pain in the tuchuss if you have to change it. I'd rather Bob 3 more deuces than have to change a trans or t-case on my own bobber. Them...
Check that pesky main air valve in the air packs! No air building and locked brakes are the dead giveaway. Also make sure the valves on the gladhands on the back of the truck are securely closed.
Congrats on your new aquisition! What's the plan for your deuce? Military style resto? Maybe full on repurpose job? Vietnam-era guntruck? Bobber? The options are vast indeed!

This week, Project "Corporal Punishment" got a new modern 24V 70 amp alternator, a freshly retubed/stretched rear drive shaft, and a new pair of batteries. It's been a good week for The Corporal!
The two-and-a-half ton and five ton ratings on all military trucks are off-highway ratings and are doubled for on-highway use. I was under the impression that the trailers are rated the same way. The M105 is a one-and-a-half ton rated trailer so it should be fully capable of three tons...
I almost forgot to post a pic. Don't mind the junk in the box, I haven't cleaned it out in a while. The black cap on the tip of the fitting is a valve cap for a tire. It allows venting and keeps the dust out.
If you remove the air line on the air pack from the tanks, just under it you'll find the main air control valve, (small brass nut on a shaft with a seal and a spring under it). Squirt a little light oil around it and move it in and out with some small needlenose plyers. Be gentle with it as you...
Good improvisation on the power bleeder. When I bobbed my deuce, I mounted the brake fluid reservior from the M105 I butchered for the springs and bed under the driver's seat (old box-style seat mount), ran 1/2" vinyl tubing to the vent on the MC cap and put a male quick-connect air fitting on...
Is this a turbo or non-turbo truck? If it has one, I'd be inclined to make sure it's spinning and getting oil. You can pull off the hose going into the air inlet, reach in with a finger (not running of course) and spin the impeller to make sure it spins freely. If it's got some gunk or rust in...
When I bobbed my 72 KJ M35A2, I temporarily replaced the ball-valve and gladhand on the right side of the rear end for a simple quick-connect air coupler. Then a couple months ago, a buddy gave me a HUGE portable air tank about 3 feet long and about 18 inches in diameter. I strapped the tank up...
One thing I'm seriously considering doing with my deuce is to lose the boat anchor generator and get my hands on a generator head from a small gas-powered unit, Then put the original pulley on it, and mount it on the engine where the original generator went. I'll supply the truck with 110 volts...
Since I get my WMO 2 to 5 gallons at a time, I pour the newest aquisitions into a 5 gallon plastic water bottle with a screw-on cap. Once I have it all in there, I set the bottle inverted on a wheel rim in the center hole in the sun for a day. The following day, if I see water settled at the...
Of course if all else fails, the pumps are plentiful on that auction website everyone around here seems to despise for $50 each. I hope The General has a speedy recovery and he's up and growling again in no time! The Corporal is coming along fairly well. I haven't been able to afford to get the...
Pretty slick how the gubberment had the rear axles set up to go dual or single at the flip of a hub. When I bobbed my deuce, I flipped the rear hubs after I changed out the rear suspension over to the leaf springs. I studied the "How to" section of XM381.com at length and read that a rear hub...
