This happened a few weeks back July 30th to be exact, IRWFO aka Jerry Pomato was struck and killed on his motorcycle on the Long Island Expressway. RIP brother.

I replaced mine with a GI roll out sleeping mat, just scrape off the old junk and wire wheel the remaining glue. Get yourself some good contact cement and glue the new stuff in. I left the mat rolled out for a couple of days before I put it in, if you use a heat gun on the back side of the foam...
Well you just hit on the head FMJ, I pulled the compressor apart and found RTV blocking the passage. Amazingly it ran this way for about 1000 miles or so since I owned it.
I pulled my bad compressor off today only to discover its guts puked out into the engine. Whats the best way to flush the engine out of the 1000 tiny pieces of metal that I am sure made its way into the oil? It also looks like the compressor was bone dry of oil, how can I tell if the oil is...
If this failier continues I will switch to a soft top, the hardware cost me about the same.

The restoration of my hard top was going real smooth until it came time to put the weather striping back on, it seems that the side windows are now lined up with the rubber. What gives, I know it didnt grow while it was off. I backed off all the nuts and tried to re adjust it but there isnt that...
That is a cool story, good luck with the new truck. The only note I found in my truck was on the inside of the hard top. I cant repeat it but it was something like "AT91 creates vacumn on donkey penis". That was interesting explaining that to my 10 year old son. :oops:
