. The tailgate is raised/lowered with two winches. The spare is also mounted on a winch. I can let the tailgate down to horizontal and then lower the spare. The tailgate is also known as the "REDNECK DECK". When I lower it all the way, I can use my atv ramps to load my bike. ( the table and bed...
Does anyone know what the speed rating is on Michelin 1600xr20 xzl tires? I'm running Goodyear 1600r20 a2 tires now with a speed rating of 55 mph. However my truck will run 70 mph comfortably, I had the tread separate @ 60 mph on a rear tire recently and things got pretty exciting immediately...
Thanks for the part #s etc. Due to time constraints I am forced to leave the truck where it's at for now. It's in a safe spot. Was leaving on an elk hunt tomorrow in it but have to regroup now. Again thanks to everyone who responded. Will update when I get to a real computer.
I lost an outer wheelbearing on a 2 1/2 ton Rockwell axle. Any part # info, bearing sources etc.would be appreciated. Very poor cell reception but here's my # anyway. Will check back here frequently.axle stub shaft is toast but don't need 4x4 to get back home, St Louis,mo. Dale @6365774260...
1600's
The axles are front loader Rockwell model: fds 75chx, 6.14:1. The front has disc brakes and lockouts. The transmission is a 5 speed stick, unsure of the make. Chelsea transfer case with power take-off coupled to a hydraulic pump. The truck had a shingle conveyor for a roofing company...
1600's
Thanks guys. These tires we a big part of my decision to buy the truck, but once i saw them in person i had serious doubts about driveability. I have been an off road enthusiast for as long as I can remember, and while I realize i don't know it all, experience tells me these babies may...
1600's
My truck is extremely light compared to a duece and I plan on keeping it that way. Prolly install a flatbed with w/dump capabilities for small bobcat jobs that I get from time to time. Haven't had the opportunity to weigh it yet.
Ok guys, I need to pick your brains. I'm relatively new on here, found the site after I bought a CUCV. Long story short the CUCV wasn't cutting it for me, and I was yearning for a duece to bob, when I came across this 1985 Ford F700 4x4. (see pix). Decided to go look at it. The owner had been...
powerless
Nice job!! I was toying with the idea of converting to a gas engine in my M1008, and just happened to mention this to a friend of mine who owns an auto repair business. His inspection tech overheard me and I was informed that if I converted to gas he would not be able to do the Mo...
spin on
I hear ya on the guage. AND I don't know if the guage is compatible with diesel fuel, but life is and experiment and until I have a failure with the guage, i'm gonna wing it!:jumpin:
Pix of my spin on filter set-up
Ok, here's pix of what I'm planning. I would really like some feed back on this so I don't shoot myself in the foot....or worse...again!:cookoo: I was digging around in my shop for fittings and came across that dandy little pressure guage, apparently unused, and...
spin on
Sam27, here's a pic of the spin on filter housing that I'm gonna put on my m1008. It's from a marine application. if you notice on top of the housing there are 4 ports. Two marked in and two marked out. I intend to use the extra "out" port to install a small brass bleeder/petcock...
winch
Yep! I've had that winch since 'bout '80, maybe '81. Had to have the motor rewound once. I have a control switch hidden behind the winch and another in the cab.
turn signals on all the time
@ bshupe, mine were on too when I got my truck, but I found that the front side marker lights and turn signal sockets had bad connections/grounds. As soon as I had those lights all working the turn signals indicators went out. Hope this helps!
