@frauhansen and @Godspeed131 - what are you guys using for a digital rear view "mirror"/monitor?
I'm looking for one for mine but haven't found one I quite like yet - I want a rear-view mirror proxy and don't want a split-screen/parking lines to be constantly on.
It's different for each of my trucks, but it sounds like we're all trending the same when it comes to those with the 4L80's. The biggest thing for me is that if it sounds like you're pushing it too much, you probably are.
I could comfortably cruise at 60-65 in the M1097A2 that was converted...
I'll be honest in that I was sceptical with how this years event would go and in fairness, I should have given it a better shot. With the whole 'rona thing going on last year and the change of venue this year, I wasn't sure how it would go. I never cared for Durhamtown as I never hit the trails...
The slantback is the classic, iconic HMMWV look that most of the general public thinks about when you say HMMWV. I was with heavy-guns during my time in service, so have plenty of time in crappy weather with the slantback and what everybody says is true - it's barely a roof really. I've got the...
Now that my MUTT is here, I've got a good inventory of what I have - and a complete jack set with lug wrench was included.
I could use a vinyl top, sides and doors. I'm also interested in US made coils and spark plugs if anybody has any.
Good evening folks. I'm planning on converting my M151A2 over to a USMC vehicle in the next few weeks and was hoping that someone could help with a couple of questions I have regarding the MERDC camo pattern and the unit markings on the vehicle. I'm interested in painting my truck as an early...
Much appreciated! I'm fortunate that I'll be buying it from a friend, so I don't think I'll need to take you up on the offer, but will keep you in mind if I do.
I'm finalizing a deal on an M151A2 MUTT that will need to be moved from N. Kansas City, MO to Athens, GA. The vehicle is running and can be driven onto a trailer.
I'd love to support someone here if possible.
I've got a couple of sets of GMV smoke/flare launchers. $750 per set.
I guess I need to inventory what other HMMWV stuff I have and get a list going.
PM to hold.
I've got a flag that was from the first white-side SOF ODA in Syria - it was used as an IFF panel on one of their GMV's. I've currently got it in a shadow box - still with Syrian sand on it. The pic below it is of my friend in the turret of the GMV with the flag spread on the hood. Overall, very...
Actually, it does have more than just "remove halfshaft". It's a 3 step process that tells you what exactly needs to be removed to pull a half-shafts out. Yes, if he read it, it would have told him why he was unable to remove the half-shaft from the truck while the wheel was still on the truck...
Except in this case, the TM does tell you HOW to do it. It took all of 5 minutes (I had to answer the phone) to find it in section 6.9 in TM-9-2320-280-20-2.
How thick are they? The real ones used on the GMV's are 3/8" steel, which may be overkill as a jack rail/cowl protection - but yours look a good bit thinner.
I've got 86humv's rails on my GMV and they have been outstanding as well.
Antenna mount.
Instead of reviving a dead post for something not totally relevant to it - consider starting a new thread introducing yourself and telling us about your truck. I'm sure you'll get plenty of answers there for any other questions that you might have regarding the new acquisition.
I made that comment and I agree that you certainly could make it using a old/busted shafts, but I personally look at those kits as something to get you out of a pinch or back to civilization and not as something to get you by on a road-trip until you feel like putting a new shaft in. I mean...
