Found a new fan clutch for $1100. Now to head back to Death Valley and work on the truck in +95F temps. Truck will have a new radiator, new fan impeller and new fan clutch. Hopefully this will all be behind me. Do plan to switch over to an aluminum radiator here shortly.
Yeah, figured as much. Once I discovered the bent shaft, I knew it was over and a new one was in order. I pm the individual here who said he had a few but no response yet. Yes, ordered a new fan impeller. Other was damaged.
Not sure what you mean by fan number. I did call kit masters and they could not help with any of the numbers I provided them from the TM's. They sent me a picture of what "they" thought, but it was not the right kit.
I priced out an aluminum radiator and the cost was close to $1700. Checked with two radiator shops. Not sure how you came to $700, but very interested.GIJOEL
Had a catastrophic failure with the air clutch. The failure caused the radiator fan impeller to break loose and cut deep into my radiator. Regrettably, I was 100 miles away from any major help. In order to get it to a safe location, I manage to pinch and fold the fins/ribs of the radiator as...
This one is located out in California. Carries 160 gallons of water, 3 battery banks, indoor and outdoor shower, toilet, kitchen, sleeps six comfortably. Plus many extras!
Will that work on the M923A2 engine? Anyways, I can purchase a 400 AMP 12/24VDC alternator. What would happen if I replaced the one that fired with one of these? Could I cook my batteries?
I am at my wits end... I have fried two alternators and cant figure out way.
I have an original 60AMP M923A2 alternator installed in truck. From this, I took the B+ lead from alternator directly to a battery isolator which goes to two different battery banks. First battery bank is composed...
I may have cause some confusion with my original post. I plan to run two battery banks. One will be primary for the truck and the secondary will be for the camper. I purchase the battery isolator as to charge the primary bank first and the camper bank secondary. Since I am using the 24V...
I'm in installing a battery isolator on an M923/A2 truck. Reviewing the manuals, we "think" we have it figured out... but because we have some doubt, I decided to confirm it here.
Can someone please provide instructions on what wire lead, from alternator, is to be removed and hooked up to...
I registered my M923A1 and M-1078 as recreational vehicles. My cost for the M923A1 was $225 for the year. The M-1078 was $443. Not sure why the difference. I highly recommend you not register this truck as commercial in California, but as a recreational vehicle. My fee for the M923A1 was...
Thanks for the information. I will be posting of what I did to one of the 10K hitches... I bent it and bent it good. I am fabricating the spacers now and will be posting them shortly, as with them installed on the truck.
