After monkeying with it I decided just to covert it to 12 volts (Roscoe Common) due to cost and local availability of parts. Really didn't want to but it seems to...
Thanks...I would have bought a dual one for two batteries if they had one but these small towns don't stock much. We are expecting some sub-zero temps the next few days and I wanted to put it on in to keep the batteries warm in case I need to drive it.
I have a 1985 M1009 that has had the Roscoe Common 12 volt conversion done and would like to hook up a NAPA battery tender/maintainer that I have but have few questions. I searched this forum and did not locate the answer since most of the vehicles mentioned are still 24 volt. I checked some...
Here is the nearly finished project...Still need to install fiberglass poles on the front bumper to arch over the top to push any low wires up over it. Also we have all the drivers getting prepped for training by the military as soon as we can work out the logistics.

Got mine from CUCV Electric (when they were still doing business) along with a GP Card, Relay and Alternator rebuild kits. Should be able to source GP's now from just about good parts supplier..Just shop around.
Thanks to everyone for all the operational pointers.. I have passed them along to the persons that will operate it.
Our main reason for getting this and the supporting paperwork we submitted to obtain it was not for a "war on drugs" but active shooter rescue. Having a uparmored vehicle that...
Definitely a concern that I had too. I will pass the info and suggestions along. Thanks for the input.
Reading between the lines from some the posts ( and posts in a similiar thread) I too have some misgiving about these types of vehicles in civilian law enforcement but I work for a Sheriff's...
Thanks for the replies.
I told them same thing about it being top heavy and in some the places we might have to take that it would be prone to rollover. Another issue is that we have some bridges that won't support it either. I also told them to watch where they drive it off the road or we...
